Paul Rudd shocks locals in Dublin Pub as he enjoys a drink and a singalong with folk band but ‘forgets to settle the bill’
As a devoted fan of Paul Rudd since his days as Josh in Clueless, I can’t help but feel utterly thrilled and envious at the same time after witnessing his recent impromptu pub visit in Dublin. Here’s a man living out my wildest dreams, casually sipping on poitín with an Irish folk band in a traditional Irish pub! It’s like a scene straight out of one of his movies, and I can’t help but feel a pang of jealousy that he gets to experience this while I’m stuck here, dreaming.
Paul Rudd shocked locals after he popped in for a quick drink and a singalong in a Dublin pub.
55-year-old Alicia Silverstone, known for her role in Clueless, spent Friday evening at The Olympia pub, savoring an authentic Irish beverage alongside members of the folk group Hermitage and a few regular patrons.
Actor Paul Rudd, known for his role as Ant-Man, was seen in Dublin, Ireland, casually dressed while enjoying an unexpected music set by a band during the filming of his latest project.
And the whole surprising episode was captured on the Irish musician’s Instagram.
The folk musicians shared a video with their 30,000 fans capturing the instant they ran into the actor.
In the video, Paul is spotted donning a set of gray sweatpants, a loose khaki hoodie, and a brown utility jacket. He was casually drinking from a tiny glass containing poitín, which is a traditional Irish spirit.
In the beginning of the video, you’ll notice Paul giving a toast to the singer-guitarist Dan Murphy by lifting a glass and saying “sláinte,” as he taps it against the glasses of the band members.
The scene transitions to show the performers singing an old Scottish farewell ballad, “The Parting Glass,” while Paul and other patrons gather around, intently focusing on the melody.
At the end the Anchorman actor then smiles before taking a sip of his drink.
It appears that Paul was so enthusiastic about the band that he took home some merchandise, but apparently failed to pay the bill – leaving him currently in debt for €15 to the band.
Hermitage poked fun at the star and their surprising interaction in the caption of their post.
They shared that they completed the soundcheck at the Olympia yesterday, then quietly enjoyed a Guinness beer and followed it up with a shot of poitín.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d encourage you to seize the moment if you spot Paul Rudd strolling in Dublin, sporting a Hermitage Green tee. Don’t hesitate to approach him and extend a friendly greeting; he’s known for his warm and amiable demeanor.
‘And Paul if you’re reading this – you forgot to give us the 15 euro for it.’
After being seen filming in an Irish city, Paul’s recent social media post announces his new musical comedy project.
The lead role in Power Ballad is taken by Nick Jonas, with John Carney, known for his musical comedy-dramas such as Sing Street and Begin Again, at the helm as director.
In this tale, I find myself at the heart of the narrative, where a gifted wedding singer, much like Rudd, takes center stage, and a genuine rock star, akin to Jonas, also makes an appearance. What brings these two together is none other than a powerful song that serves as a bridge between them.
I’m absolutely thrilled to share that, right now, the cameras are rolling in the heart of Dublin, Ireland! This incredible project we’ve all been buzzing about is getting ready for its big debut at the prestigious Cannes Film Market towards the end of this very month. Can hardly wait!
Peter McDonald (of “The Bachelor Weekend”) collaborated on the screenplay along with Anthony Bregman and Peter Cron, who served as producers under their company, Likely Story.
They will produce with Robert Walpole and Rebecca O’Flanagan for Treasure Entertainment.
Earlier this year, Paul’s fellow actor Joe offered fans an insightful peek at the off-camera life of his latest character, by posting a collection of interesting moments on Instagram.
In May, the popular singer, who is 31 years old, posted three pictures on Instagram. One was a selfie showing him with longer, curly hair; another was a picture of him playing golf, and a third one showed him holding a pint of Guinness while posing for the camera.
In the following image, Jonas is seen holding a pair of clippers above his head, while in the next, he’s pictured cradling his daughter, Malti, sporting her freshly trimmed haircut.
