The first trailer for the new *Anaconda* movie is out, and it looks like a delightfully silly and entertaining ride.

This isn’t a simple remake of the 1997 movie with Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, and Owen Wilson. Instead, it’s taking a more self-aware and layered approach.

Okay, so I just heard about this hilarious movie! It stars Jack Black and Paul Rudd as these two guys who are *obsessed* with the movie *Anaconda*. They decide, for some reason, to actually *make* their own version of it – like, a remake! It sounds totally crazy and I can’t wait to see it.

I’m so excited about this movie! It’s not just Black and Rudd, but Daniela Melchior from *The Suicide Squad*, Thandiwe Newton who I loved in *Line of Duty*, and even Steve Zahn, who was amazing in the first season of *The White Lotus* are all in it too!

Tom Gormican, who also directed, and Kevin Etten wrote the screenplay. The pair previously collaborated on the self-aware action-comedy *The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent*, starring Nicolas Cage and Pedro Pascal.

Paul Rudd is set to star in a movie based on the book *Rain Reign*, and he’ll be working with a former castmate from *Clueless*.

The Anaconda reboot will be released in the US on 25 December, and in the UK on 26 December.
