I can hardly wait to see these two talented actors face off against… well, you know, a giant anaconda!
The project is currently in its early stages, with discussions revolving around it, but reports suggest that the remake will center on a group of older friends attempting to recreate one of their past favorite movies as a means to relive their youth, amidst dealing with mid-life crises. However, upon reaching their rainforest location, they find themselves embroiled in a struggle for survival against natural calamities, enormous snakes, and ruthless criminals.
It appears that two characters have been developed: one is a former director-turned-wedding-videographer who seems discontent with their current job, and the other is an actor from Hollywood who’s looking for more substantial roles than the cop series he was previously cast in. There has been conflicting information about which role Black and Rudd will play. Some sources say Black will portray the videographer, while others suggest Rudd will take on that role. However, the truth remains uncertain.

Initially panned by critics upon release, the film Anaconda has since gained cult status and has led to numerous spinoffs, sequels, and a crossover movie in 2015 titled Lake Placid vs. Anaconda. A remake of the original was recently produced in China as well.
Black and Rudd have explored the chilling world of horror previously. Black was part of the family-friendly live-action Goosebumps films and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, while Rudd appeared in several Halloween movies. Given their comedic backgrounds, it’s likely that the Anaconda reboot will blend elements of horror and humor.
According to reports, it’s said that the anticipated revamp of Anaconda will be co-written and directed by Tom Gormican. This is the same individual who helmed the Nicolas Cage-starring film, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Gormican has also collaborated on the script for the recent Netflix release of the latest Beverly Hills Cop movie, titled Axel F, which hit screens in July this year.
