Sad news for Bad Company fans.
Paul Rodgers, a founding member of the rock band Bad Company, said Tuesday he won’t be able to attend the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday. Bad Company is being inducted as part of the Hall of Fame’s class of 2025.
Paul Rodgers announced he won’t be able to attend the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and perform for fans, as his health needs to come first. He had been looking forward to performing with former Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke, but is now unable to do so.

Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, and Elton John are all scheduled to appear at the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony, either as performers or to present awards.
Although Aaron Rodgers didn’t detail his current health, he previously revealed to CBS News that he experienced two significant strokes in 2016 and 2019, along with eleven smaller ones. These strokes temporarily caused him to lose his speech.
Rodgers explained he’s happy to sing, but the other demands of performing are what he’s struggling with. He announced that Simon and a group of talented musicians will be taking over his performance duties, and promised they’ll put on a great show.
Bad Company, famous for songs like “Can’t Get Enough,” “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” “Ready for Love,” and their signature hit “Bad Company,” was a hard rock band that started in London in 1973. The group originally included Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke, who previously played together in the band Free, along with guitarist Mick Ralphs and bassist Boz Burrell.
Bad Company first broke up in 1982, but the members occasionally got back together to record music or perform live, though the group’s lineup often changed. Today, Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke are the only remaining original members; Terry Burrell passed away in 2006, and Ian Ralphs died this June.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s class of 2025 includes Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, OutKast, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes as performers. Salt-N-Pepa, Warren Zevon, Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, and Carol Kaye will be recognized for their impact on music, while Lenny Waronker will receive a lifetime achievement award.
