Paul Mescal takes a break from playing Paul McCartney as he and girlfriend Gracie Abrams depart star-studded screening of Beatles star’s documentary

Paul Mescal paused his work portraying Paul McCartney to attend a screening of a new documentary about the Beatles legend in London on Thursday.

The 30-year-old actor and his girlfriend, Gracie Abrams, were spotted leaving the event together. They were there to promote his new show, ‘Man On The Run,’ which is available on Amazon Prime Video.

Fans and photographers swarmed Paul McCartney as he left the movie screening.

This project chronicles the remarkable life of 83-year-old Paul after The Beatles disbanded and will become available on Amazon Prime on February 27th.

Paul looked relaxed and informal in a baseball cap and long grey coat as he chatted with singer Gracie, 26. Gracie matched his casual style with a cap of her own and a large black blazer accented by a pink flower.

The couple started dating in 2024 and have generally kept their romance private.

Cruz Beckham was also at the screening, looking relaxed in a navy jacket and jeans with his girlfriend, Jackie Apostel.

Sharon Osbourne opted for an all black look in a matching knee-length coat, trousers and handbag. 

I’m so excited about this new Beatles film! Paul McCartney himself is going to play his younger self, which is just incredible. And the rest of the cast is fantastic – Harris Dickinson will be John Lennon, Barry Keoghan is taking on the role of Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn will be George Harrison. It’s going to be a four-part series, and I can’t wait to see it!

He will be recording his own vocals. 

Many actors choose to sing the songs themselves when portraying real-life figures in biopics, and Taron Egerton followed this practice while playing Elton John in the film Rocketman.

Paul is continuing a trend, sharing with British GQ that the role has been a valuable learning experience and sparked a new passion within him.

The actor revealed he’s started writing his own music. He explained that while he’s always enjoyed music, playing the role of a famous singer and songwriter has inspired him to create his own and experience music in a new light.

Paul has suggested he might take a break from public life until his movie comes out in 2028.

The actor shared that he’s planning to work less and focus more on his family and loved ones, including his partner, Gracie. He rarely talks about his personal life, making this a special insight.

The Irish heartthrob spoke about his shifting priorities as he reflected on turning 30.

I’ve found a good work pace that suits me, and it’s been consistent for about seven years – ever since I was 23. I’m now 30 and still feel that rhythm is working well.

I’m starting to prioritize things that really matter to me, like spending quality time with my family, partner, and friends, and I’m consciously making time for them.

I’ve been a longtime fan of this actor, and he’s usually very private about his relationship with Gracie, the singer. But recently, he shared something really personal. He said that, honestly, until he met her, he’s always been completely focused on his career and never really wanted to be anywhere but at work. It’s sweet to hear him admit that things have changed for him!

‘And now I do have a desire to not spend my time necessarily in a rehearsal room or on set.’
