The musical Oliver! narrates the tale of a young lad who manages to flee an orphanage, sadly finding himself ensnared by heartless criminals in the bustling streets of London.
The musical is renowned for its memorable moments like when Oliver is harshly disciplined at the orphanage for requesting an additional serving of food, saying “Please Sir, I want some more,” as well as popular tunes such as “Food Glorious Food,” “Consider Yourself,” and “You’ve Got to Pick a Pocket or Two.
The official site of the ongoing West End show advises spectators about scenes involving criminal activities, potentially offensive language, violent imagery, and food scarcity.
In the heading labeled ‘Content Advisory,’ it is noted that the script, following the style of Dickens’ novel, includes some mildly offensive language characteristic of the era; portrayals of violent acts affecting men, women, and children involving gunfire; and explorations of poverty, hunger, and criminal activities prevalent in Victorian society.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I would like to caution parents about a particular show. This program carries a warning that it may not be suitable for children under the age of 7 due to its content, which includes simulated gunfire and smoke effects.
