Patsy Kensit’s Devastating PTSD Struggle

Patsy Kensit, a well-known figure, expressed distress among her fans after she posted a heartfelt message about feeling lonely following what she termed as the saddest week of her life on Friday.

The actress, 56, took to Instagram alongside a sombre snap after previously revealing she’d been diagnosed with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Patsy captioned the post:  It’s the end to the most saddest week ever. The weekends are always hard as I can feel isolated and I worry constantly… tomorrow is a new day – breath work, meditation and exercise’.

Before adding: ‘God bless anyone who can relate to any of this… love and light’.

Fans and well-known acquaintances flocked to the comments section to send their warmest congratulations, with Lisa Faulkner expressing her affection by saying: ‘Sending you my love’.

In a similar manner, Natalie Appleton expressed: ‘I’m sending lots of love to you, dear one’, and Tracy-Ann Oberman wrote: ‘Sending love Patricia with a kiss (x)’.

Recently, Patsy shared that she has been diagnosed with PTSD after opening up about experiencing a difficult day, mentioning that she felt both misled and hurt.

She again took to her Instagram and shared a photo of a sad face emoji, writing in the caption that she had been struggling after ‘a hard day’.

Today, I’ve found myself facing a challenging day. I find myself feeling deceived and wounded today. Towards the end of last year, I received a diagnosis of PTSD, but I had been making significant progress and feeling fantastic.

Today, I’m not at my best. I’m a mix of gratitude and sadness. Those who have faced mental health struggles and depression can relate – you’re not on your own in this fight…

‘When I’m working I feel none of the above.. I’ve just finished filming. I will meditate and try and raise my frequency to bring positivity back into my life. Today is just a bad day.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that’s caused by an extremely stressful or terrifying event — either being part of it or witnessing it.

After Patsy expressed that she no longer expects to meet a partner, having been married four times, she now finds peace in being self-sufficient and fulfilling what she calls the “void within her spirit” on her own.

The actress ended her engagement with real estate magnate Patric Cassidy last year, and in November, she expressed that she is no longer interested in pursuing romantic relationships.

She told Hello!: ‘I wouldn’t want a relationship, I am not interested. I do believe in love. But for me it’s not something I need, I have been on my own a long time and I like my own company.  Now, it’s just adjusting my life to fill the hole that’s in my soul.’

In 2023, she unexpectedly announced her engagement to Patric, who proposed to her only a few weeks following their initial date.

He is thought to have proposed to the former Holby City star in Mayfair seafood restaurant Scott’s, before buying the fellow diners champagne to celebrate.

The couple then had an official engagement in February, with Patric getting down on one knee on a beachfront surrounded by flowers shaped into a heart.

At a charity event in June, it was said that Patsy appeared visibly upset after Patric took her diamond engagement ring from her hand during an argument.

Just weeks later a spokesperson for Patsy told The Sun on Sunday: ‘I can confirm they have split, and would appreciate that she is given her privacy regarding the matter. She is currently very busy working.’

A source confirmed that the intense relationship between them has ended, and they are now choosing to part ways.

She deeply cherished him, yet realized that their bond wouldn’t last permanently. Consequently, she decided it was wiser to refrain from progressing further in their romantic involvement.

At present, Patsy finds herself with numerous intriguing job prospects, immersing herself wholeheartedly in her professional life.

In 1988, Patsy tied the knot with Dan Donovan, who was a member of the popular ’80s band Big Audio Dynamite. However, their marriage didn’t last long and they separated in 1991.

She then married Simple Minds front man Jim Kerr in 1992. The couple went on to welcome their son James in 1993, but divorced three years.

Without a doubt, one of her marriages that gained significant attention was the one with Liam Gallagher, the lead vocalist of Oasis, which took place the subsequent year and continued until 2000. The pair share their son, Lennon, as a result of this union.

She then married Nineties DJ Jeremy Healy in 2009, but the pair split 10 months after the wedding.

Patsy previously spoke candidly about her failed marriages, and earlier this year told The Mirror: ‘You don’t have to marry all of your boyfriends.

‘My goals always been that my sons had a really good relationship with their fathers.

‘For me. I haven’t spoken or had contact with those men. I am very supportive of their relationships with their fathers, but I don’t have one. I like it that way.’
