Patrick Schwarzenegger hits out at “frustrating” nepotism claims amid White Lotus fame

In response to criticisms about nepotism regarding his achievements on The White Lotus, actor Patrick Schwarzenegger has spoken up, expressing his frustration over the issue.

In the current third season of the HBO series, which follows a different story each time, it’s the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver who takes on the character of Saxon Ratliff.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, Schwarzenegger countered critics who claim his current position was solely due to his father’s influence.

He mentioned that people don’t seem to realize his extensive background in acting: ten years of acting classes, weekly high school plays, countless hours spent perfecting characters, and numerous unsuccessful auditions.”

Indeed, it’s disheartening when you find yourself cornered, and in those instances, it seems as though having your surname isn’t advantageous. However, let’s remember that such moments are fleeting.

Arnold Schwarzenegger emphasized that he wouldn’t swap his life with anyone else’s. He feels incredibly blessed to possess the life, family, parents, and the teachings and values they’ve imparted upon him.

Prior to starring in “The White Lotus”, this actor has previously been seen in shows such as “The Staircase”, “The Terminal List” and “Scream Queens”.

Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that our colleague Jason Isaacs, portraying Schwarzenegger’s character’s father Timothy on screen, has shed light on the playful atmosphere backstage during filming this season.

He said that, for the most part, everyone got along, but there were moments of alliance formation and breakage. Off-camera, there was as much drama as on, albeit with less fatalities, similar to the behind-the-scenes dynamics of ‘The White Lotus’.

In the third series, we find ourselves in the beautiful landscapes of Thailand, as we delve into the lives of fresh guests at the White Lotus resort, each grappling with their unique issues and quirks.

The White Lotus airs on HBO and Max in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK.
