PatMen departs Paper Rex, moves to Global Esports

Paper Rex has announced that Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza is leaving the team, as he’s been signed by Global Esports.

Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza, the newest addition to the strong VCT Pacific team Paper Rex this year, will be playing for a different organization in 2026. Paper Rex unexpectedly let PatMen go, and Global Esports has now signed him to their roster.

PatMen leaves Paper Rex

Following weeks of rumors, Paper Rex has officially announced that PatMen is leaving the team.

We recently made the tough decision to release Patrick ‘PatMen’ Mendoza, a promising new player who was a key part of our team’s strategy.

Over the past few years, our team has consistently improved, and we’re more committed than ever to building the strongest possible lineup. This decision follows a thorough review process that included input from our players, coaches, and performance staff.

Paper Rex doesn’t make changes to its team roster quickly or without careful thought. Every decision is based on what the team needs to succeed, how well the players work together, and our plans for the future. We always make sure to be clear and considerate of everyone affected.

PRX’s performance coach LJ “Panda” Cheng also had a message for PatMen.

Hey Pat, it’s been awesome playing with you. Seriously, getting to know you has been a blast – from those fun bike rides, even when we were soaked in the rain, to getting totally wrecked by you in-game! You’ve really brought a positive vibe to the whole team, both when we’re gaming and just hanging out. It’s sad to see you go for now, but I’m super excited to watch you improve and reach your full potential. You’ve got the skills, you know what you need to work on, so now it’s time to put in the work and level up!

PatMen shared the post and expressed his gratitude to Paper Rex. He helped the team win the Masters Toronto championship, which was also Paper Rex’s first international win.
