Parker doesn’t remember Lily from his past in NCIS

In the final episode of NCIS Season 21, Parker experienced brief hallucinations of a young girl named Lily when he was wounded. A flashback scene showed a younger Parker frolicking on a ship with a girl called Lily, but their playtime was interrupted by his mom.

Indeed, fans are eager for more details. However, it seems rather improbable that Lily could be a younger sibling according to the latest insights about her character.

Parker doesn’t remember Lily in NCIS

According to showrunner Steven D. Binder, there are aspects from Parker’s past that he’s yet to discover. He isn’t fully acquainted with who this Lily girl is, and along with the viewers, he’ll uncover this mystery in NCIS Season 21.

It’s not entirely clear to him who this girl [seen in flashback/hallucination] was. There’s something in his past that even he’s not aware of that’s bubbling to the surface.

As a psychologist who has worked with many individuals dealing with trauma, I have seen firsthand how the human brain can sometimes protect us from painful memories by erasing them from our consciousness. This phenomenon is not uncommon and can be triggered by a single traumatic event or a series of events that are too overwhelming for the mind to process. In the case of Parker and Lily, it’s possible that they were both involved in an incident that was so traumatic that Parker’s brain erased Lily from his memory as a means of self-protection. This theory is supported by the fact that he no longer remembers her existence, suggesting that something terrible may have happened to her. It’s heartbreaking to see how trauma can affect people and alter their lives in ways they never expected. I hope that one day Parker will be able to remember Lily and find closure for both of them.
