Paris Hilton’s ex-fiance Chris Zylka charged with two felonies following brawl with police

In pondering the tumultuous journey of Mr. Chris Zylka, I find myself both intrigued and saddened by his story. It seems that the glitz and glamour of Hollywood stardom have taken their toll on this once promising talent. His life, much like a rollercoaster ride, has been filled with peaks and valleys, love and loss, success and heartache.

After surrendering to the authorities, Chris Zylka, a former fiancé of Paris Hilton, is currently facing charges for two felonies, stemming from his latest arrest.

39-year-old Zylka was apprehended recently due to a violent altercation with the police, stemming from an alleged attempt to steal a vehicle in Ohio, which resulted in a physically confrontational situation and left both parties injured.

A warrant for arrest was previously issued against Zylka following his unexpected escape from custody. However, on Monday, it was reported by TMZ that Zylka voluntarily turned himself in.

In a turn of events, Zylka faced two serious charges: one for an alleged assault on an officer, involving an elbow strike, and another for the suspected attempt at carjacking.

Apart from the main offense, he faced three lesser charges: disturbing the peace, obstructing an officer, and making threatening gestures of a severe nature.

Troubles related to legal matters for Zylka surfaced earlier this month. The authorities were summoned to Warren, a town close to Cleveland, at 4:45 pm on December 4, due to a report about a man who was not wearing any shirt or shoes in the cold and attempting to enter a vehicle with what seemed like a firearm, as stated by local station WKBN.

He was captured on bodycam footage with a bloody nose and bruises.

Upon the arrival of law enforcement, they discovered a halted traffic situation where model and actor Zylka seemed to be struggling at the front of the vehicle, foam coming from his mouth, giving the impression that he was possibly affected by substance use, according to WKBN’s report.

According to the police, it was reported that Zylka attempted to enter a female driver’s vehicle and shattered the window in an attempt. At the scene, the Leftovers actor was said to have mimicked holding a cellphone as if it were a gun, directing this gesture towards two arriving detectives.

As soon as he was told to kneel down and the officers tried to put handcuffs on him, he refused, managing to secure one of his wrists within the cuffs prior to a struggle ensued.

In the incident as detailed in the report, I found myself engaged in a physical altercation with an officer. Meanwhile, another law enforcement official intervened, deploying a taser that unfortunately hit the officer involved in the scuffle with me.

This officer then used his taser twice on Zylka which did not seem to affect him.

The footage shows Zylka was finally arrested after a third detective managed to subdue and cuff him.

In the video, Zylka appeared to be having trouble with law enforcement officials and medical personnel as they secured him onto a stretcher and transported him in an ambulance, visibly injured and bleeding.

Police said paramedics gave Zylka ketamine to calm him down. 

The police report notes personal weapons included ‘hands, feet, fist, teeth, etc.’

Previously, a representative from the Warren Police Department told TMZ that Zylka was not being held in custody anymore. They also mentioned that an arrest warrant had been issued for him. According to TMZ’s report, there were suspicions that Zylka might have managed to evade authorities at the hospital.

Zylka is best known for his role as Tom Garvey in the HBO series The Leftovers from 2014-2017.

For a period of three years, Zylka and Hilton were romantically involved. However, their relationship concluded when their engagement was terminated in the year 2018.

Currently, Hilton is wed to Carter Reum and they are proud parents to a 23-month-old son named Phoenix and an 13-month-old daughter called London.

2023 saw Zylka discussing his former relationship with Hilton, expressing that he still cherishes her family, though he couldn’t share much about the specifics of their romance because of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

He stated emphatically, “She’s beyond reproach, and I suspect anyone who speaks ill of her might not hold the best of characters.

Speaking honestly, he mentioned, ‘I truly yearn for her family. I long for her mother, father, brothers, and sister. I miss the drive from her home to Bel Air, where we used to hang out together.’

Speaking about regrets, Zylka mentioned, ‘I’ve never had the chance to express my thanks to her for not acknowledging the value of the experience she provided me with and everything she did for me.’

In his continued admiration for her, he mentioned, ‘She’s the only connection I’ve ever nurtured where the exchange has always been giving, not taking. It’s been nothing but giving, and it’s truly heartwarming.’

He mentioned, ‘I’m not allowed to reveal anything due to the non-disclosure agreement we signed when we concluded our relationship and parted ways. I’ve been aware of her past breakups, so I agreed not to write a book or make similar disclosures. However, there was nothing negative that I could share.’

Chris referred to Paris as a ‘rockstar’ for her musical accomplishments as a DJ.

In the end, they chose to part ways so that he could devote his attention to his job, a task he hadn’t managed while they were together.

He shared that his job held significant value for him, and without a second thought, he prioritized her. Looking back, he has no regrets about this decision, as it came during the pinnacle of his professional journey.

As we approached the concluding chapter of ‘The Leftovers’, our bond failed to flourish, spanning merely a couple of years. However, the encounters and the wonderful individuals I met during this period were truly memorable experiences.
