Paris Hilton Opens Up About Trauma Behind Her ‘Barbie Persona’

In a heartfelt confession during a recent chat on Wednesday, I – your ultimate Paris Hilton enthusiast – shared that the ‘Barbie doll’ persona people know and love has a surprising backstory: it stems from my traumatic experiences with pasta! Yes, you heard it right. This revelation brings a whole new dimension to my iconic image, doesn’t it?

44-year-old socialite shared that she crafted her persona as a means to navigate through the challenging adolescent years spent at a Utah boarding school.

Paris claims that she endured both physical and sexual abuse while in the care of Provo Canyon School for a period of two years. This placement was arranged by her parents, as she was seen as a challenging teenager at the time.

The woman with two children confessed that she employed the character of a seemingly naive blonde girl as a protective shield, preventing the media from probing into her distressing history.

To Grazia magazine, she explained: ‘I designed a Barbie-like character as a sort of facade. I chose not to discuss certain matters because I didn’t want anyone to inquire about them, especially not traumatic subjects. It was all about shielding myself from the pain.’

The television figure is hoping that people will refer to her as ‘iconic’ following her success in passing The Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act in December.

She went on to explain, “I found myself compelled to break my silence, embarking on a path of personal exploration, healing, and release. The process filled me with tremendous strength, knowing that I had persevered through such unimaginable hardship.

“In Washington D.C., nothing had ever moved quite as swiftly before. I feel immensely proud of myself for persistently sharing my experiences. Regrettably, no one has taken action to safeguard these children so far. This battle isn’t over yet – I’ll keep fighting because there’s still much work to be done. I can only hope that this is the reason people refer to me as an icon.

Since October 2021, Paris has been making trips to Washington approximately every 6-10 months, advocating for the reformation of youth residential treatment centers with Congress.

She held separate meetings with Senator Chuck Schumer from New York, who is the current Senate Majority Leader, as well as Senators Chuck Grassley from Iowa and Tim Scott from South Carolina, in an effort to push for the bill’s approval.

On a Wednesday, while shopping for sisters during a vacation in Saks Fifth Avenue, New York City, the model found out that her bill had been approved by the Senate. She shared this news with ABC News.

She remembered vividly their emotional reaction – filled with joy and pride – upon receiving the news. However, she is now imploring House representatives to swiftly schedule a vote on the bill without delay.

As a passionate advocate for a safer world, witnessing the unanimous passage of the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act by the U.S. Senate on December 11th was one of my most heartening experiences. It served as a powerful reminder that when we prioritize survivor voices and set aside political differences, we can foster genuine, impactful transformation.

However, our mission isn’t complete yet. I can’t rejoice until this bill is enacted into law, which now depends on the U.S. House of Representatives to bring it across the finish line, following the Senate’s initial steps.

‘Furthermore, I address Leader Scalise, Speaker Johnson, and each member of the House: Please consider the young ones who are unable to voice their own concerns. They depend on us, on you, to advocate for their well-being and respect. Approving this bill would symbolize our capacity to act with compassion and bravery when we prioritize others.’

Paris shared her traumatic experiences from Provo Canyon School in Utah, which happened in the 1990s, during a hearing on Capitol Hill last year. She used this opportunity to push for extensive changes within the foster care and youth rehabilitation system.

At the age of sixteen, I was abruptly awoken in the dead of night and moved against my will beyond the borders of my home state to the initial of four institutional homes, as I testified before the House Ways and Means Committee in June.

For a span of two years, I was subjected to being administered drugs against my will and experienced sexual misconduct at the hands of the staff. I was forcibly restrained… left bare, locked up alone, as the granddaughter of Hilton Hotels recounted further.

Hilton expressed that her parents had been thoroughly deceived by the institutions, being oblivious to the hardships she was experiencing. Earlier, her parents were misled into thinking that her Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) could be corrected through strict discipline.

In essence, Hilton stated that this annually $23 billion industry tends to view the public primarily as sources of revenue, lacking substantial supervision or regulation.

In addition, she disclosed last year that her initial sexual encounter was forced and happened when she was 15 years old. This incident occurred after a drink she consumed had been secretly laced, leading to an older man taking advantage of her.

During that period, Hilton resided with her granny in Palm Springs, frequently taking trips with her pals to Westfield Century City mall in Los Angeles.

She shared with Glamour UK that older men frequently approached them while they were at stores, conversing with them. One time, these men invited Paris and her companions to their residence.

Paris mentioned that she was suggested to have ‘fruit-flavored alcoholic beverages’, and one of the men was quite persistent in encouraging her to consume it.

She mentioned: ‘After taking perhaps one or two gulps, I instantly felt light-headed and unsteady. I can’t tell for sure, but I suspect that drug he added might have been something like Rohypnol.’

The hotel heiress asserted that she awoke several hours later with the realization that something terrible had transpired. She explained, “I recall it distinctly. I have vivid images of him on top of me, muffling my cries with his hand, insisting, ‘You’re dreaming, you’re dreaming,’ and murmuring these words into my ear.

She found that the events had left her with a sense of embarrassment, and shortly following this, she enrolled at a boarding school in Utah for a period of two years. There, she asserted that she was subjected to sexual abuse, as staff members reportedly carried out cervical exams on her against her will during the early morning hours while she was attending the school.
