Paris Hilton, Anna Faris, and Anthony Hopkins’ homes pictured one year after catastrophic LA fires left them in ruins

A slew of A-list stars saw their homes reduced to rubble in the Los Angeles wildfires last year.

The devastating fire destroyed the homes of several celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Anna Faris, Eugene Levy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John Goodman, and Anthony Hopkins.

Between January 7th and 31st, 2025, Southern California experienced 14 wildfires that tragically resulted in 31 deaths. Over 200,000 people were forced to leave their homes, and more than 16,000 buildings were destroyed.

The wildfires burned for over three weeks, and it took almost seven months to clean up the damage.

Los Angeles city and county officials have issued over 2,600 building permits to rebuild thousands of homes that were destroyed, with many reconstruction projects already underway or being planned.

Here, DailyMail.com revisits the homes a year after the fires, showing what’s left behind.

PARIS HILTON

Hilton’s $8.4 million Malibu home was among those that burned down in January of last year.

A fire that swept through Pacific Palisades and Malibu completely destroyed the home of reality star Paris Hilton, leaving it reduced to ashes.

Photos taken on January 7 show the property remains in ruins, with rubble scattered throughout.

Most of the rubble has been removed, and we can now see parts of the original foundation walls that are still intact.

Paris Hilton recently shared posts on Instagram remembering the anniversary of the wildfires and detailing how she helped. She fostered a dog named Zuzu for a family who lost their home in the fires, working with the Pasadena Humane society to provide support.

The celebrity, who transitioned from reality TV to music, didn’t mention her personal struggles, but highlighted the positive side of collaborating with amazing people in Los Angeles to work towards a common goal of recovery and rebuilding.

Hilton shared the story of creating the first “Sliving Lounge” at Altadena Girls, where she delighted 50 female entrepreneurs by providing support through her $1 million grant program in partnership with the Pasadena Women’s Business Center.

The fire destroyed one of the hotel heiress’s properties, but it wasn’t the home where she primarily lives, as she owns several.

Last year, Paris Hilton shared a heartbreaking video online of her Malibu beach house being destroyed by a fire, watching it burn live on television.

The socialite shared on X (formerly Twitter) that watching her Malibu home burn in a live news report with her family was a devastating experience, something she hopes no one else ever goes through. She included a video from KABC showing the extent of the damage.

The actress, who has a son named Phoenix Barron and a daughter named London Marilyn with her husband Carter Reum, 43, expressed immense sadness over the devastating wildfires, saying she was ‘heartbroken beyond words’.

“This house holds so many special memories for us,” Hilton shared. “It’s where Phoenix first started walking and where we imagined a future filled with happy times for London as well.”

Despite the immense sadness, I’m thankful my family is safe. I’m sending my love and support to everyone impacted by these devastating fires.

My heart goes out to everyone who has lost their homes, cherished memories, and pets. I’m especially thinking of those who are still in danger or grieving even more significant losses.

ANNA FARIS

Faris lost her mansion during the devastating Pacific Palisades, California fire.

Photos taken from the air on Wednesday reveal the empty lot where her house used to be, with all the wreckage now removed.

The 4,000 square foot house she bought for nearly $5 million in 2019 was completely destroyed by fire last year, leaving only the foundation remaining.

The entire property was completely destroyed by fire, leaving little more than ashes and making it impossible to recognize the building’s original shape.

Only a few older trees remained on the property, but their leaves had been scorched by fire.

You could still make out the shape of her swimming pool, but it was empty – likely all the water had boiled away in the fire.

The driveway and surrounding area were clear of vehicles, suggesting everyone had left before the fire spread through the neighborhood.

After my split from Chris Pratt and we sold our place in the Hollywood Hills back in 2018, I decided to invest in a new home. It felt like the right step forward for me.

It was near a corner lot property.

Surprisingly, the houses on the other side of the street were untouched by the fire, and their trees and lawns were still green and healthy.

The Mom star reportedly bought the Pacific Palisades home in 2019 in an off-market deal.

According to Architectural Digest it was originally constructed as a spec house.

Anthony Hopkins

Hopkins also tragically lost his home in the devastating wildfires.

The acclaimed 88-year-old actor bought the beautiful four-bedroom, five-bathroom house in Pacific Palisades for $6 million in 2021. Sadly, this property was later destroyed by a fire.

The latest photos show nothing more than the home’s foundation.

Fire damage was still visible on the walls and foundation.

Earlier pictures showed the house, a once-beautiful colonial, completely burned down. Almost nothing was left except for a badly scorched fence.

The Oscar-winning actor bought a new house, marking a fresh beginning after selling his Malibu beach house for $10.5 million – over twice the price he originally paid for it in 2001.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time Hopkins’ home faced devastating flames.

In November 2018, a fire known as the Woolsey fire came dangerously close to his home, destroying the property next door.

Back in 2000, Hopkins also experienced a fire at his home in London, but luckily he was in Los Angeles and unharmed.

Eugene Levy

Levy joined the ranks of those devastated by the massive wildfires.

Eugene Levy, 79, known for his role in Schitt’s Creek, lost his house in a fire that destroyed homes in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles.

New photos of his burned down home show a fenced in empty lot with some green growth.

Levy explained to the Los Angeles Times that he was stuck in heavy traffic while trying to leave the area before the fire spread.

Okay, so I was digging around, and apparently, back in 2006, he snagged that place for only $3.9 million! Can you believe it? Urban Splatter said so, and honestly, knowing him, it’s still a steal. I’ve been tracking his properties for years, and that initial purchase is just… amazing. It’s where it all began, you know?

This two-story house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, with a total living space of 2,081 square feet.

Built around 1950, the house included a garage and a beautiful curved walkway from the driveway to the front entrance.

Although the house wasn’t large for a celebrity home, it had nice landscaping, with well-placed trees and shrubs that offered some privacy from the street.

But all that was reduced to a pile of smoldering rubble.

Eugene Levy, known for his role in American Pie, is actually Canadian and grew up in Toronto. He raised his children, Dan and Sarah Levy, there as well, and they all starred together in the hit comedy Schitt’s Creek.

He owns a significantly bigger house now, and he used his home in Pacific Palisades mostly when he was working on film projects in the Los Angeles area.

Levy was made an honorary mayor of Pacific Palisades in 2021, showing his strong ties to the community.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

After the fire, all that remained of Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall’s $15 million home was a pile of rubble.

And latest photos show the plot of land remains empty, though it looks well tended to.

With the debris cleared away, what remains is healthy ground.

The former Saturday Night Live cast members purchased the large, Mediterranean-style home—which has five bedrooms and bathrooms and a terra cotta tile roof—in the early 1990s.

Hall and Louis-Dreyfus raised their sons, Henry, 32, and Charlie, 27, there.

The house next door and a few across the street were surprisingly saved from the fire.

John Goodman

Goodman’s home in Los Angeles was reduced to ashes in the devastating Pacific Palisades wildfires.

I still can’t believe it… pictures surfaced of her old place, and it was completely gone. Not a single wall, not a single room left! It’s just… vanished. It’s devastating to see, honestly. I’ve been following her career forever, and seeing her past life literally wiped away like that… it’s heartbreaking.

And latest images of the area show that not much has changed.

The rubble has been cleared out, and all that remains is the home’s foundation.

Earlier photos showed the swimming pool in the backyard, which had been badly damaged and blackened by the fire.

Goodman purchased the Pacific Palisades in 2008 for $4.6 million.

This large house used to have five bedrooms and five bathrooms, with a total living area of 5,250 square feet.

It’s unknown whether anyone was living in the house, as John Goodman mainly lives in New Orleans, Louisiana, with his wife, Anna Beth Goodman, whom he has been married to for over 30 years.

The pair share daughter Molly Evangeline Goodman, born in 1990.

Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett

The Malibu house once owned by actors Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett was destroyed in the recent Southern California wildfires, according to Ryan O’Neal’s daughter, Tatum O’Neal, who shared the news last year.

Recent photos reveal that only an empty lot on the beach is left where the house used to be.

The 62-year-old Oscar winner shared on Threads that she was heartbroken over the loss of her father’s home in Malibu, saying it was ‘so sad I could cry.’

Tatum later discussed the fire damage in the comments section of an Instagram post shared by actor Michael Douglas on Saturday.

Actress Tatum O’Neal announced that her childhood home in Malibu was destroyed. O’Neal, who won an Oscar for her work in the 1973 film ‘Paper Moon’ alongside her father, shared the news.

A fire occurred at the longtime home of the actor known for Love Story, located off Pacific Coast Highway. This happened over two years after his death on December 8, 2023, at the age of 82, due to congestive heart failure.

Farrah Fawcett passed away from cancer on June 25, 2009, at the age of 62. This news comes over 15 years later. She and actor Lee Majors had an on-and-off relationship from 1979 until her death, with a break between 1997 and 2001, but they never married.

According to sources who spoke with the New York Post, Ryan’s estate was worth $30 million at the time of his death in December 2023. This included his home, a 2,344 square foot property valued at $5 million.

A house with three bedrooms and three bathrooms was recently listed on Redfin for $3,348,606.
