Paramount+ Renews The Madison for Season 3 After Strong Debut

Paramount+ has ordered a third season of the show, thanks to strong viewership numbers from its first season which premiered in March. Season 2 has already been completed, but a release date hasn’t been announced yet.

Paramount+ reported impressive viewership numbers for the premiere. It marked the biggest debut ever for a series created by Taylor Sheridan.

What is The Madison About?

Originally planned as a spin-off of Yellowstone, The Madison is now a completely separate series. It centers on the wealthy Clyburn family who are grappling with the sudden death of their father, Preston, and his brother Paul, in a plane crash. After the tragedy, Preston’s wife, Stacy, decides to move the entire family from Manhattan to their Montana ranch – the very place Preston and Paul were traveling to when the crash happened.

I’m so excited about The Madison! Michelle Pfeiffer is heading up an amazing cast, and she’s joined by Kurt Russell, Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova, Matthew Fox, Will Arnett, and the talented Amiah Miller. It’s going to be incredible to see them all together!

I’m incredibly thankful for this amazing project,” the actor shared just before the show’s release. “It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to work with Taylor Sheridan, and I finally got the chance. I met him during the audition process, really went after the role, and thankfully, I landed it. Things are going great! We’ve already started filming in Montana, which I’d never visited before. It’s a beautiful place, and everyone is wonderful. I think audiences are really going to enjoy the show.”

Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ Empire Continues to Flourish

As a huge fan of Taylor Sheridan’s work, I’m really excited about The Madison, which just landed on Paramount+. It’s great to see him continuing to expand his universe – I’m already hooked on Yellowstone as it heads into its third season, and 1883 was fantastic, leading to the spinoff 1923. Plus, there’s Special Ops: Lioness, and he’s got another series, 6666, coming out later this year. He’s definitely keeping me busy with all this great content!

Sheridan plans to start working with Apple in 2029, once his current contract with Paramount ends. Until then, he’ll continue to be a key player in creating both new and established shows for Paramount+.

Though The Madison won’t be a direct continuation of the Yellowstone story, Taylor Sheridan is still building out that world on Paramount+. We’ve already seen two Yellowstone origin stories, 1883 and 1923 – the latter starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. Another prequel, 1944, is currently being developed, and a series focusing on the Dutton Ranch is also planned.
