Ade Adepitan is reportedly in ‘advanced talks’ to join the new series of I’m A Celebrity.
The Paralympian, 53, would be the first wheelchair user in the show’s 23 years history.
ITV executives reportedly want Ade to participate in the show and are willing to modify the campsite to accommodate his needs.
According to a source at The Sun, Ade is currently discussing appearing on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ and the show’s producers are very interested in having him as a contestant.
‘Producers are currently looking at ways to adapt the camp to make it work for Ade.
People believe he’d be great on the show because he’s so charismatic and has a really big, fun personality.
The Daily Mail reached out to Ade’s spokesperson for a statement. ITV also responded, stating that any potential contestants mentioned for ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here’ are simply rumors.
Ade lost the use of his left leg after contracting polio when he was a baby.
He first became well-known as a player on the Great Britain wheelchair basketball team, earning a bronze medal at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens. He then transitioned to a career in television.
The new series is also expected to feature Joanna Page, known from ‘Gavin and Stacey,’ and Sir Christopher Dean, the 67-year-old Olympic ice dancer. This comes after Dean and his former skating partner, Dame Jayne Torvill, finished their roles as head judges and choreographers on ITV’s ‘Dancing on Ice,’ which ended in March 2025.
The popular show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! will be back on television in late 2026. However, its South African version probably won’t return for at least three more years.
