Major Paradise spoilers follow.
The show Paradise is coming back for a third season! After a surprising ending to season two, here’s what it means for the show’s future and how it sets up a fulfilling return.
The popular Hulu series, created by Dan Fogelman, features Sterling K. Brown as Xavier Collins, a Secret Service agent. The story takes place in Colorado, where Collins lives in an underground city following a catastrophic event.
In the season two finale that aired on Monday, the group had to leave the bunker when the oxygen stopped working and a nuclear meltdown became imminent.
The story then revealed Alex to be a powerful quantum computer with the ability to control time. It also hinted that Link/Dylan (Thomas Doherty) might actually be the adult version of Sinatra’s (Julianne Nicholson) deceased son.
What to Read Next
When Sinatra gave her life to protect everyone else, Xavier’s true identity as “User X” was exposed. This suggests he’s significant to Alex and could be crucial in preventing a global catastrophe.
The story ended with Xavier tasked with finding a hidden AI facility under Denver Airport, and hints that time itself was starting to change.
John Hoberg, an executive producer and writer for Paradise—and co-writer of the season finale—recently discussed the show’s third season with The Hollywood Reporter.
As season two concluded, a large group of people found themselves in Colorado, and Xavier received instructions to try and save the world. This will naturally lead to questions about who will take charge and how decisions will be made, he explained.
Hoberg explained that the main characters will start to wonder if Sinatra is trustworthy, and if her actions are actually harmful or against their goals.
He explained that now that they’ve left, all they know is that there’s a bunker located somewhere under Denver, but they’re unsure if it’s a safe place to go or if they even want to be there.

When asked about the upcoming third and final season, Hoberg explained that while they resolved all initial mysteries at the end of season one, they also introduced a few new ones.
It feels like season two just wrapped up one set of mysteries, only to introduce an even larger one. We’re expecting season three to follow the same pattern – answering old questions while creating new, bigger ones.
He confirmed they know how season three will conclude, stating, “We’re very happy with the ending and have been looking forward to it for a while.”
We didn’t follow the exact path people expected in season two, but we did address some of the questions and themes fans were hoping to see explored. I believe season three will deliver a similar experience.
The outcome might surprise you, and it won’t necessarily be what you expect, but I believe you’ll ultimately find it rewarding.
You can watch seasons one and two of Paradise on Hulu and Disney+. We don’t have a release date for season three yet.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-color magazine dedicated to Harry Styles, is now available! You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
