Season 5 felt more focused on intense feelings and physical attraction. While some viewers found it heartwarming, others thought it was quite difficult to watch.
Okay, so watching Season 5 of Single’s Inferno, I think a lot of the contestants probably signed up hoping to become internet famous – they were all so good-looking and brave to even go on the show! But what’s really cool is how the back-and-forth between Inferno and Paradise totally stripped all that away. It really forced them to be open and show who they really are and what they were feeling. It wasn’t about followers at that point, it was about genuine connection.
The show is surprisingly raw and honest. Contestants quickly reveal their true selves, becoming vulnerable as they pursue love and risk heartbreak. It’s a challenging environment where genuine emotions are on full display.
This article details the couples that formed on Single’s Inferno, which relationships ended before the finale, and who left the show with a promising connection. Read on to follow the unfolding romances throughout the season.
- Episode 1: “Blind date” pairs to start Single’s Inferno Season 5
- Episode 2: Postcards and dodgeball pairs
- Episode 3: Paradise dates
- Episode 4: Photo contest and campfire struggles
Episode 1: “Blind date” pairs to start Single’s Inferno Season 5
The show starts by introducing all the contestants and letting them meet each other. This is how Season 4 began, and Single’s Inferno is doing the same thing.
During the first episode of Season 5, the contestants quickly started pairing up. After about half of them had a chance to introduce themselves, they had lunch, and then everyone voted for who they were most attracted to at first glance.
The two people with the most votes—a male and a female—each got to pick someone for a special date, known as a ‘Paradise date,’ on the first day.
Kim Min-gee chose Woo Sung-min
Despite being a well-known athlete, Kim Min-gee was surprisingly down-to-earth and friendly. She received the most votes from the male contestants on Season 5 of Single’s Inferno.
She decided to go on a date with Woo Sung-min.
Min-gee said she was attracted to him because she thought he was cute. She also appreciated that he was helpful and took initiative, like when he assisted people in the cafeteria.
Kim Jae-jin chose Ham Ye-jin
Jae-jin kept to himself, wandering around instead of helping with lunch, which caught the attention of the girls.
The guy named Ham Ye-jin as his first date on Single’s Inferno Season 5.
Kim Jae-jin shared that he was impressed by her ability to make others feel comfortable. He also mentioned she closely matched his ideal type physically.
When leaving Inferno, Ye-jin confessed she also selected Jae-jin.
Episode 2: Postcards and dodgeball pairs
Okay, so Season 5 of Single’s Inferno just dropped episode 2, and it was a bit weird! New contestants arrived, which is always exciting, but it happened a little later than expected. It meant four of the people already in Paradise didn’t get to meet them right away, which felt a bit unfair, honestly!
Following more introductions and a shared dinner, the residents of Inferno island received a heartwarming task: to write a postcard to someone they cared about.
- Choi Mina Sue received the most postcards, three. Quite interestingly, she sent hers to Song Seung-il, and one of those three was actually from him.
The first event of Season 5 was a dodgeball game. Players first selected colored balls, with the girls going first, followed by the guys. Teams were created based on matching ball colors.
- Lee Sung-hun was an unlucky one who drew a pink ball: he remained without a partner and out of the game.
The aim of the dodgeball game was to be the final team standing. Park Hee-sun and Shin Hyeon-woo won and were rewarded with iced coffee in Inferno. Afterwards, all the teams enjoyed a brief outing together.
Woo Sung-min and Kim Go-eun
These two had a lovely time away from everyone else. They decided to visit Paradise together.

Sung-hun, who also goes by Samuel, and Mina Sue connected through their shared use of English. However, their conversations felt more like a friendly exchange than the start of a romance.
Episode 3: Four Paradise dates
In the last episode and the beginning of this one, each contestant revealed who they were interested in dating. If two people chose each other, they were allowed to leave the island. This happened with four couples during Season 5 of Single’s Inferno.
Woo Sung-min and Kim Go-eun
After the dodgeball game and lunch, Kim Go-eun and Woo Sung-min continued to spend time together, appearing comfortable and at ease with each other.
Lim Su-been and Choi Mina Sue
Choi Mina Sue seemed unusually relaxed and confident, even appearing self-assured in her posture. Lim Su-been was still having a good time that evening.
Kim Jae-jin and Lee Joo-young
Jae-jin seemed much more relaxed and open on this date. The conversation flowed easily, and Joo-young felt comfortable showing she was enjoying herself with him.
Kim Min-gee and Song Seung-il
Min-gee was shocked to learn Seung-il was five years her junior. She unintentionally drew attention to the age difference, but Seung-il didn’t seem to mind and was adorably open about it.
Episode 4: Photo contest and campfire struggles
This challenge was a first for Single’s Inferno – a photo contest introduced in Season 5. The women picked their partners one by one, using numbered balls to determine the order. The task involved portraying a very attractive couple, which naturally required a lot of physical closeness.
Choi Mina Sue mixed up the names of some of the male contestants, but she ultimately worked with two of them during the photoshoot.
- Kim Jae-jin and Kim Go-eun won this contest. Their prize was a chance to discover the top three picks of any other person on the island.

Love triangles near a campfire
Following the demanding physical competition, Single’s Inferno then tested the emotional limits of the contestants on Season 5.
To start, everyone on the show exchanged two chocolate hearts. Red hearts were given to people they were attracted to, and gold hearts went to those they wanted to get to know better.
The contestants were brought together by a campfire, where they enjoyed drinks and snacks. Once they were comfortable, the organizers started a revealing game of ‘truth or dare.’ Each person picked a question and had to respond honestly.
The conversation revolved around favorite chocolate gifts, romantic interests, and future dates on the show. The campfire setting sparked some intense emotional moments. Here’s a recap of the most memorable parts of that night.
- Kim Jae-jin got two girl admirers. He named Lee Joo-young as his next desired Paradise date and the top pick. In return, she did exactly the same. Park Hee-sun gave him her golden heart.
- Kim Go-eun formed a triangle around herself. She became the top pick of Shin Hyeon-woo. Woo Sung-min gave her his red chocolate heart and named the next Paradise date. From her side, Go-eun gave their chocolate hearts to both these guys but hinted Hyeon-woo as a Paradise date pick: “someone new.”
- Song Seung-il is interested in two girls: Kim Min-gee and Choi Mina Sue. He gave the chocolate to them. Discovering that made Min-gee somewhat aggressive in her desire to win the boy.
- Choi Mina Sue changed her heart a few times, and she was pretty cruel. Lim Su-been named her as his top pick. Then, she selected Woo Sung-min as her Paradise date and Song Seung-il as her top pick. Previously, she named Lee Sung-hun as her top priority.
Episodes 5, 6, and 7: Singles Inferno Season 5
More episodes of the popular reality show will be available starting January 27th. Choi Mina Sue continued to cause drama with Lim Su-been, while also showing interest in Song Seung-il. Season 5 of Single’s Inferno is also getting two new contestants: one man and one woman, who are sure to shake things up.
Single’s Inferno is still a huge hit on Netflix, and fans are eagerly awaiting Season 6. Based on the release dates of past seasons, it’s likely to premiere around the beginning of 2027.
