Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, renowned for her roles in ‘Harriet the Spy,’ ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer,’ and ‘Gossip Girl,’ tragically passed away at the age of 39, discovered in her residence on Wednesday.

On a Wednesday evening, Hayley Amber Hasselhoff – one of the two children David Hasselhoff shares with Bach – re-shared a photo of her parents on her Instagram story. The 32-year-old actress and model placed a heart emoji over the image.

Born on October 16, 1962, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bach began her acting career with various roles, such as appearances on “The Young and the Restless” and “Otherworld”. In 1989, she tied the knot with heartthrob David Hasselhoff. Throughout the ’70s to the early 2000s, her acting journey continued with parts in shows like “The Fall Guy”, “T.J. Hooker”, “Superboy” and “Viper”.

In a twist of fate, Bach came across her future spouse on the filming location for his popular TV show “Knight Rider.” Following the show’s four-season stint on NBC that concluded in 1986, Hasselhoff and Bach exchanged vows in a low-key wedding ceremony in Studio City. Later, their shared life journey continued on the set of the long-running series “Baywatch,” which aired from 1989 to 2001 on television. In this show, Hasselhoff portrayed the charismatic lifeguard Mitch Buchannon, while Bach appeared in various roles across 14 episodes between 1991 and 2000, according to IMDB records.

1989 saw Pamela Anderson dismissing the idea that her marriage to Hasselhoff influenced her “Baywatch” roles in an interview with The Times. She expressed at that time that having Hasselhoff as a last name was beneficial but she never used this connection.

In 1989, when interviewed by The Times, Anderson made clear that her marriage to Hasselhoff did not play a role in securing “Baywatch” roles. She described his last name as valuable but unused baggage.

Even though he’s both the leading actor and the producer, it wasn’t his influence that got me this job,” she affirmed emphatically. “I have confidence in my abilities as an actress, knowing I always remember my lines, arrive punctually, and maintain a highly professional demeanor on set. In fact, I strive to make everyone feel more at ease, rather than adding stress. My success is rooted in my own accomplishments.

In 1990, a year after getting married, Bach and Hasselhoff welcomed their first child, Taylor, into their family. Two years later, they had another daughter named Hayley Amber. However, around the turn of the century, the actors decided to go their separate ways and officially divorced in 2006.

Prior to her passing, Bach used her social media platforms to share personal experiences and family news. In her last Instagram post, she expressed excitement about the future in 2025, mentioning that observing her granddaughter London grow and witnessing her smile brighten her world was an extraordinary blessing.

She added, “I hope 2025 brings many wonderful experiences, lots of joy, and as much happiness as your hearts desire. Let’s raise a toast to a year filled with creating treasured moments, sharing happiness, and cherishing each fleeting instant!
