Pamela Anderson clarifies relationship with Liam Neeson after he said he was ‘in love’ with her

Pamela Anderson has talked again about her Naked Gun costar Liam Neeson.

Spectators are somewhat unsure about the nature of their connection, following his declaration of love towards her earlier this year.

Now, the 58-year-old Canadian icon, famously known as a pinup, has clarified her status as the queen of Baywatch. She graced Entertainment Weekly’s digital cover, which was released on Tuesday.

It appears that Anderson has found a deep and meaningful friendship with Liam, one that they believe will last a lifetime. They also mention that there’s an authentic and affectionate bond between them, and they consider Liam to be a truly kind individual. However, as of now, it seems that their relationship is purely platonic.

In the new setup, Liam Neeson, aged 73, takes on the role of Detective Frank Drebin Jr., who is the son of Frank Drebin portrayed by Nielson.

Anderson plays a femme fatale character named Beth who asks Frank to solve her brother’s murder.

Pamela also called Neeson as ‘a true artist.’

She was thrilled about the handsome man, exclaiming, “He’s from the world of theater, known for Schindler’s List, and has starred in more than a hundred films!

She mentioned that she often worked in a reversed manner and seemed to come from the world of television. Later, her private life took precedence over her professional one, as she was once married to both Tommy Lee and Kid Rock.

She observed that it’s quite amusing: Each of us arrives here by various paths, yet the opportunity to share this journey with him carries great significance and feels incredibly special.

She similarly expressed that he exhibits exceptional manners, as well as eliciting your finest qualities through his respect, kindness, and profound wisdom.

In October Neeson said he was ‘madly in love’ with the Playboy cover girl.

‘She’s just terrific to work with,’ Neeson told People.

Leslie Nielsen and Priscilla Presley were the main stars in the original Naked Gun movie series. These films include “The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!” released in 1988, followed by “The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear” in 1991 and lastly “Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult,” which came out in 1994.

On August 1, a new take on “The Naked Gun” will hit theatres. This time, it’s helmed by director Akiva Schaffer, with Paul Walter Hauser and Danny Huston joining the cast.

In June 2025, the initial trailer for The Naked Gun was released, depicting Neeson’s character who had taken over the LA Police Squad following his father’s tenure.

This comes after Anderson said she doesn’t enjoy her ‘sex symbol’ status.

In the ’90s, Pamela Anderson solidified her role as a cultural icon of attractiveness by portraying ‘C.J.’ Parker in Baywatch. However, it’s worth noting that she herself wasn’t particularly fond or comfortable with the limelight and attention that followed during that period.

In an interview with the How To Fail With Elizabeth Day podcast, Pamela shared: ‘I find it uncomfortable being labeled as a sex symbol. I believe genuine attractiveness in relationships is more appealing, but being a sex symbol for the public eye feels strange to me.’

‘While it garnered more attention than I preferred, I find myself in an awkward position to express this discomfort as I’m not aiming to complain. However, I do feel that by exposing oneself so openly, one may unwittingly invite excessive attention in return, which can be a precarious situation.’

In more recent times, Pamela has chosen to forgo makeup on red carpets, instead opting for a more authentic or natural appearance.

She expressed that at times it feels somewhat intimidating for her, given her current age and the absence of makeup, to step into this phase of her career. She found it crucial for her personal well-being to embrace a more authentic, natural appearance.

I aim to push my boundaries and showcase various aspects of myself, as women can embody numerous roles beyond being seen solely as a romantic partner.” This version preserves the original message while being more straightforward and easier to understand.

Pamela previously admitted to being shocked by the public’s reaction to her makeup-free appearance.

It was believed by the well-known actress herself that nobody would care or realize if she chose to forgo wearing makeup.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, she expressed, “I’m adorning myself in stunning outfits designed by Vivienne Westwood. I’ve got a fantastic hat and captivating coat. It won’t matter if I skip makeup this time.

‘I didn’t realize it was going to start all of this, all these people really relating to me.’

Pamela feels the public’s perception of her has changed over recent times.

The actress believes the shift is also beneficial for her two sons.

Pamela, the mother of Brandon (aged 29) and Dylan (aged 27), who were born to her with her former spouse Tommy Lee, stated that her sons likely no longer feel the need to vouch for her.
