Paloma Faith recently shared a story about suspecting her friend, Alan Carr, of unintentionally letting the media know about her split with a former partner. She discussed this on an old episode of her podcast, Mad, Sad and Bad.
The 44-year-old singer and the 49-year-old comedian chatted about rumors on a segment of their show, where the singer remembered a time she mistakenly believed a friend, Alan, had revealed a secret she hadn’t even shared with anyone.
Kicking off the chat, Paloma asked Alan: ‘Do you think gossip’s bad?’
He admitted: ‘I gossip about people all the time.’ Paloma shot back: ‘You think it’s okay?’
Alan admitted he has a contradictory personality. He doesn’t really like people, yet he enjoys gossiping, but gets upset when others talk about him. He described himself as a hypocritical gossip.
Paloma probed: ‘So you do sort of think it’s bad, but it’s a guilty pleasure.’

He confessed that he enjoys gossiping, explaining, ‘If someone’s being unpleasant, it’s natural to talk about it, isn’t it?’
Paloma remembered calling someone after a Halloween party, and being shocked to see news about her breakup in the paper the next day – even though she hadn’t told anyone it had happened.
Appearing shocked, Alan protested: ‘It was not me! You know it wasn’t me.’
Paloma continued, reminding him, ‘I actually called you about this before. I asked if you had any idea what was happening, if you’d maybe let something slip, and you said you hadn’t.’
Alan responded, laughing, “So you tricked me by asking if I gossip, and when I admitted I did, you revealed someone was gossiping *about you*!”
Paloma burst out laughing and exclaimed, “No!” Alan playfully added, “This is a trap, Pam! Let’s go!”
Paloma jokingly warned that the driver couldn’t drive and they would end up in a dangerous situation. Alan playfully responded that he would hold onto the hood of the car for dear life.
The video is making the rounds online after Paloma hinted that she and Alan are no longer friends. This follows an incident on the BBC show *Celebrity Traitors* where Alan seemingly ‘killed’ her character, leading Paloma to feel betrayed.

This week, a new competition series featuring celebrities premiered, and on Thursday night, viewers saw the singer known for the song ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’ eliminated from the show.
In a surprising turn of events, Alan, a friend of the contestant, was revealed as one of the Traitors by host Claudia Winkleman during Wednesday’s premiere, and he made the first elimination.
Alan, along with Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns, were challenged on their show to eliminate one of the other contestants.
Claudia, age 53, described how someone could be ‘poisoned’ by touching their face with pollen from a black lily found at Ardross Castle.
Comedian Alan, while alone with Paloma in the kitchen, used the excuse of a hair on her face to touch her cheek with his thumb.
Paloma made it through the night, but the next day she experienced something terrifying: she was unexpectedly placed in a coffin and carried off as part of a strange competition.
The singer has been suggesting she hasn’t gotten over a painful betrayal by a close friend, and this conflict is now affecting their personal relationship.
When the show began airing Thursday night, Paloma shared her initial reaction to the scene where Alan appeared to kill her. This moment was shown through a flashback of Alan touching her face.

She posted a short video on Instagram showing herself on the couch, simply saying a curse word and tagging Alan in the post.
She shared a picture of herself as her character sitting by a graveside from the show, and told her followers she was very disappointed to be the first contestant eliminated.
After a fan commented that they thought Alan was a friend, Paloma sharply replied, “I thought so too.”
The situation worsened when Paloma, while leaving the show, was asked about her favorite moments and didn’t mention Alan at all.
She shared that she enjoyed feeling strong and capable while building the Trojan horse. She described it as a really exciting team effort that took a lot of hard work.
It’s been wonderful meeting new people – Celia is fantastic, and I really adore Niko; he’s amazing!
I also really enjoyed meeting Cat. And Ruth Codd was one of the most hilarious and clever people I’ve encountered in ages!
In the *Traitors* podcast, *Uncloaked*, Paloma was very direct about her feelings towards Alan, stating she wouldn’t have acted the same way if she were in his position.

The singer told Ed Gamble that if the roles were reversed, they wouldn’t have touched Alan’s face.
He definitely had a choice to make, and while it might have been the simplest path, I don’t believe it was a kind one.
I truly believe I would have reacted differently if the roles were reversed. Because of that, I don’t think he was right to do what he did, and I’m honestly surprised he did.
She suggested she and Alan had talked since the difficult experience, adding that she surprisingly found it easy to forgive him.
On Thursday, Claudia requested that celebrities like Charlotte Church, Joe Marler, Stephen Fry, and Celia Imrie wear black clothing for a scene filmed in a graveyard, depicting the death of the character Paloma.
Celebrities braved heavy rain while participating in a game where three were placed in coffins before the first ‘eliminated’ contestant was revealed.
Paloma’s time in the competition ended when she was dramatically eliminated during a mission, effectively sealing her fate.
Although the on-screen moments were captivating, people working on the show said the actor wasn’t as calm and collected when the cameras weren’t rolling.

A source told The Mirror: ‘She threw a wobbly afterwards about being the first to go.
Most players don’t seem to mind when they’re eliminated, but Paloma was furious to learn she’d been betrayed. She struggled to understand what went wrong, and discovering the truth only deepened her upset.
Paloma is very expressive and doesn’t hide her feelings, so she was understandably upset about being the first to leave.
It’s so strange to even say this, but after… well, after I died, I described the whole thing as ‘up and down’. Honestly, it was terrifying knowing that because I was such a big personality, I always felt like a target. It was a really unsettling feeling, even then.
She explained that she’s not the type to stay quiet or hide her feelings. She naturally expresses herself openly, so trying to remain reserved just wasn’t possible for her.
She jokingly admitted her performance wasn’t the best, but added that her approach works well in everyday situations.
Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One and iPlayer on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
