As someone who has spent countless hours trying (and mostly failing) to create anything more than a simple shack in various life simulator games, I can wholeheartedly say that the Home Tours feature in Palia is a game-changer. It’s like stepping into an art gallery, but instead of paintings, you have beautifully crafted homes and plots.

As a gamer immersed in the world of Palia, one thing that truly sets this life simulator apart is the ability to tailor my very own storyline while nestled in Kilima Valley and exploring Bahari Bay. In this captivating game, each player gets their unique home plot – a personal haven for farming, crafting, and cooking. What makes it even more engaging is the high degree of customization we have over our plots, which adds an extra layer of excitement with the new Home Tours feature.

In Home Tours, players are given the opportunity to design their own plots, as well as explore the inventive builds created by other participants. Admittedly, I often struggle with creativity in such situations; typically, when presented with a multitude of building tools and materials, I find myself constructing a simple cube. However, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the imaginative creations I’ve discovered within Palia.

Initially, the game only featured pre-built rooms. However, developer Singularity 6 has expanded it with unattached building elements like bricks, columns, floors, walls, and more. I’m still figuring out how to use these elements effectively, but user Jay Kromley astonishingly constructed Jurassic Palia – yes, a T-Rex sculpted from strategically arranged wooden crates by an ingenious architect.

Osirapphir Kath developed a setting titled “Night at the Museum,” which evoked numerous recollections of Animal Crossing for me. I truly enjoyed my visit to this temporary museum; if only Blathers, the apprehensive owl and museum director from Animal Crossing, had been there to make it even more realistic. Although there’s no curator employed, I admire the effort that went into creating such a sophisticated establishment.

For those who prefer speed, the Palia Speedway by Lady Kathleen was a highlight of my tour. The player has used giant plushies to put dragons on the raceway — which makes sense, I feel like they look quite speedy — and then gone through the effort of building custom cars and carts out of stone pieces and PalTech constructions. While the race is forever frozen in time, I love the effort that went into creating such a massive scene.

In simpler terms, the PaliaCraft plot is quite charming. It draws inspiration from Stormwind City in World of Warcraft for its design. Although constructing an entire settlement with Palia’s building tools can be challenging, I found it delightful to attempt recreating a unique world within this lot. Moreover, the large fish on the right side is my favorite feature; that quirky addition certainly adds personality to the plot.

The traditional building environment in Palia has been constrained by the fact that one’s opportunities are quite restricted, only allowing them and their select companions to explore it. The recently introduced Home Tours feature provides an excellent opportunity to delve into other people’s buildings and admire their innovative designs. To be honest, I’ve mostly stacked two building blocks side by side, which was the pinnacle of my aspirations; these other plots serve as a source of inspiration and allow me to appreciate others’ artistic endeavors.
