In the 1970s, an action series led by a team of women was unheard of. Then came “Charlie’s Angels.”
For years, the incredibly popular all-female karate team thrilled viewers with their action-packed crime-fighting adventures, becoming a true pop culture sensation. Now, five decades after the show first aired, the original actresses are getting back together for a reunion at PaleyFest L.A. this year.
The Paley Center for Media announced Monday that its yearly festival will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the popular TV show. The festival, which honors outstanding television, will take place from April 4th to 12th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
On April 6th, Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd, and Jaclyn Smith – the original stars of Charlie’s Angels – will participate in a discussion about the show and its lasting impact.
The festival brings together legendary performers, dedicated fans, and amazing experiences, making it truly special, according to Maureen J. Reidy, head of the Paley Center for Media, in a recent announcement.
Each year, the festival honors popular TV shows, and in 2024, they celebrated the 25th anniversary of “Family Guy” with a special event. This included the cast performing a table read and live musical numbers.
The event will kick off with a screening of and a discussion with the cast of “Pluribus,” the sci-fi series from Apple TV set in a post-apocalyptic world.
Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, stars of the Netflix series “Nobody Wants This,” will join their castmates for a screening and discussion later this week. According to the show’s creator, Erin Foster, the panel will cover topics like dating ‘icks,’ memorable characters, and unexpected romantic encounters.
This year’s event will feature a special advance screening and discussion with the cast of the Emmy Award-winning series “The Pitt.” Attendees will include stars Noah Wyle, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, and Shawn Hotosy.
The nine-day festival will feature screenings and panels for several popular shows, including the new ‘Scrubs’ reboot on ABC and Hulu, as well as Netflix’s ‘Emily in Paris’ and Apple TV+’s ‘Shrinking’ and ‘Your Friends & Neighbors’.
Okay, so here’s the deal for getting tickets: if you’re a Paley Center member or have a Citi card, you get first dibs starting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Everyone else – the general public – can try to snag tickets starting January 30th. Just wanted to give you a heads-up so you don’t miss out!
