Paige DeSorbo, 32, opens up on past abusive relationship she endured at 19: 'Fully brainwashed'

As a dedicated follower of reality TV, I’ve been moved by Paige DeSorbo’s courage to share her painful past and personal experiences on the latest episode of Giggly Squad. Her journey from an abusive relationship at 19 to finding love with Craig Conover is a rollercoaster that many can relate to in some way, shape, or form.

Paige’s honesty about her past relationships, particularly the one where she was brainwashed and controlled by her ex-boyfriend, is commendable. It takes strength and resilience to face such painful memories and share them with the world, hoping that they may help others who have gone through similar experiences.

Her candidness about her attraction to chaos and adrenaline in her relationships rings true for many people, myself included. We often find ourselves drawn to what we think will bring excitement or drama, only to realize later that it was not the best choice.

But what truly impressed me was Paige’s ability to learn from her past and grow. She recognized the patterns in her relationships and made a conscious effort to break free from them. This is something that many people struggle with, but Paige managed to do it, which shows her determination and strength.

Lastly, I have to say that Paige’s joke about her and Craig being like Ross and Rachel from Friends is hilarious! Who would have thought that their love story would mirror one of the most iconic TV relationships of all time? It just goes to show that reality can sometimes be stranger – or at least as dramatic – as fiction.

I wish Paige all the best in her future endeavors, and I hope she continues to inspire others with her courage and resilience. Her journey is a reminder that it’s never too late to learn from our past and create a brighter future for ourselves.

In a recent episode of her podcast, “Giggly Squad,” Summer House cast member Paige DeSorbo opened up about her difficult past, as reported by Us Weekly.

The 32-year-old celebrity from reality TV disclosed details of an earlier toxic relationship she experienced at the age of 19, stating emphatically that she had been completely indoctrinated or influenced.

At the age of 19 or 20, I felt particularly vulnerable. I had a relationship with a man who was both physically and emotionally abusive, which significantly influenced how I dated throughout my twenties, as shared by Paige.

She mentioned that she hasn’t specifically discussed on the podcast that she was in an abusive relationship before, but if she were to share it, this would be the appropriate episode, as she believes many other women have experienced similar situations.

In the very same podcast, she revealed that her three-year relationship with Southern Charm star, Craig Conover, had ended, and she spoke honestly about it.

In her podcast, she mentioned that their breakup was cordial, yet she didn’t delve into the reasons behind them choosing different paths.

Pondering back on her past toxic relationship at the age of 19, Paige realized it was an unusual phase in her existence.

Adding that she was ‘fully brainwashed’ by her ex-boyfriend.

The star did not divulge his name or who he was during the podcast.

At the age of 19 and 20, I was too young to drink alcohol legally. This shift in my age significantly altered my perspective on relationships. To be honest, I had never encountered anything like it before. I hadn’t even considered the possibility that such relationships could apply to me.

Paige expressed that she doesn’t feel any embarrassment about her previous relationship, rather, she takes great pride in herself for how she navigated through it and managed its aftermath.

She also learned why what she was attracted to led her to that relationship.

‘I looked for chaos, and I looked for pure adrenaline and emotion,’ she reflected.

As a lifestyle guide, I found myself exclaiming, “This journey has been quite exhilarating, yet unexpectedly challenging! It’s not about leaping from a toxic union straight into a superior one; instead, it’s about navigating the nuances between a less-than-ideal situation and a slightly improved one, given the context.

The reality star said that she continued this pattern until age 26.

At that time she got into what she called a ‘normal’ relationship, however it didn’t work out.

Following the end of her first ‘normal’ relationship, Paige met Craig.

When she ended her past relationship and found herself single again, she encountered Craig. At that moment, she felt like she had finally understood the answer. She was determined to be with someone who truly adored her. It seemed everything was unfolding as it should. This was her sentiment, she expressed.

Initially, Paige and Craig crossed paths in the Hamptons during the shooting of Bravo’s Summer House. Their relationship deepened further when they interacted more on the Winter House spinoff series.

For several months prior, the public was abuzz with anticipation due to their intriguing chemistry. They eventually validated their romantic relationship by posting about it on Instagram in October 2021, thereby silencing all the rumors and conjecture.

Every single day, I’d find myself growing more and more enamored by their love story. It seemed indestructible, a beacon of hope for many fans like myself. But then, on a fateful Monday, the unthinkable happened – she stunned us all with the announcement that this cherished duo had parted ways, leaving even Andy Cohen in a state of disbelief.

On a recent episode of the Giggly Squad podcast, I, a heartbroken fan, gleamed that I’ve been following too closely—Craig and I have chosen to part ways. DeSorbo shared this emotional revelation during the show.

With a tremble in her voice, the reality TV personality confessed that speaking openly about their split seemed strange, yet she emphasized that she harbors nothing but warm emotions towards Conover.

Speaking from my heart, I adore him, and I believe the feeling is mutual. I’m hopeful that our bond will continue to flourish as friends. Let me clarify, nothing untoward happened between us, and there was no negative incident involved.

DeSorbo explained their choice as a sign of maturity, stating, ‘I believe we were simply being very mature by expressing openly what we did and didn’t prefer. I think it’s incredibly potent to be able to articulate your feelings immediately and what you desire for your future.’
