War comes to Middle-earth in new trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Preparations are underway for season 2 of “The Rings of Power,” Amazon’s high-budget prequel series based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” set during Middle-earth’s Second Age, centuries before Frodo and Aragorn were born. In the first season, Sauron (played by Charlie Vickers) gained influence among Middle-earth’s elves and humans by posing as a human named Halbrand, but Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) unmasked him as the rising dark lord he was and refused his offer to rule the world together. Now, under the guise of a divine entity called Annatar, Sauron is intensifying his schemes to dominate Middle-earth by creating enchanting jewelry with sinister intentions.
