Sony Pictures is taking a unique approach to promoting the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. They’ve been releasing very short video clips showing Tom Holland as Spider-Man in action. These quick teasers feature him swinging through the city and showcasing a new suit. One clip shows a tired Peter Parker falling, and fans have noticed he isn’t using his usual mechanical web-shooters, suggesting he might develop organic web-shooting abilities in the movie. The Amazon series follows Jack Ryan, a character created by Tom Clancy and featured in fourteen of his novels. The show depicts Ryan’s career progression – from his time as a Marine and CIA analyst, through field work, and eventually to a leadership role as acting deputy director of the intelligence agency. He ultimately resigns after discovering corruption linking a US Senator to an international criminal organization. While not based on a specific Clancy book, the series shares a similar feel to the show Homeland, following Ryan as he travels the world to defend the United States against threats of crime and terrorism.
