Padma Lakshmi recently shared an unexpected tip on fashion that her daughter, Krishna Lakshmi, often offers her.

In their social media video game of “Tell the Truth,” the women confessed that they regularly evaluate one another’s outfits secretly.

Krishna shared that they follow a ‘five-second rule.’ If someone can’t change their appearance within five seconds, and the feedback given is negative, it should be kept to oneself. However, before leaving home, they are bluntly honest with each other.

Simultaneously, the former Top Chef host mentioned that her mini-me often advises her to opt for more attention-grabbing outfits.

Krishna chimed in, ‘And she’s always telling me to dress less provocatively.’ 

The strong, harmonious relationship between Padma and Krishna was clearly evident in the eight-minute video, which was initially previewed on Instagram and later made available in its entirety on YouTube.

Together, they had plenty of hearty laughter, often completing each other’s thoughts, as they spoke candidly about their most significant disagreement and swapped items of clothing.

Regardless of their varying fashion tastes and viewpoints, they openly acknowledged that they rifle through each other’s wardrobes daily.

The star of Taste the Nation admitted, “She doesn’t let me know when she takes certain things, which really bugs me.

The incident involving a dispute about jewelry, often referred to as the ‘Bangle Controversy’, took place when a sixth grader named Krishna donned her mother’s expensive gold bangles to school without informing her.

Upon returning home, I found the entire house in disarray. Puzzled, I asked if everyone was searching for these bracelets. This is what the teenager explained.

During a different part of their conversation, Krishna mentioned that Georgia from the Netflix show “Ginny & Georgia” could be a character they resemble.

The high school sophomore expressed, “I believe she’s a fighter, and ever since you were born, it seems like luck hasn’t always been on her side.

Not only do I believe you have achieved great things, but your resilience and ability to take action towards your goals are truly inspiring. I hold you in high regard for these qualities.

Padma divulges the fact that she’s raising Krishna alongside a 55-year-old investor named Adam Dell, who was previously just a casual dating partner before she conceived.

In the year 2024, the three of them made an uncommon appearance in a picture shared on social media, celebrating their daughter’s completion of middle school.

During that period, the exceptional cook excitedly posted on Instagram, “I find it hard to believe that my daughter is starting high school following the summer break.
