Paddy Pimblett gives his prediction for Sean O'Malley vs. Merab Dvalishvili

As a die-hard UFC fan with years of grappling and striking expertise under my belt, I can’t help but feel excited about the upcoming bantamweight title fight between Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili. The contrast between their fighting styles is fascinating – a striker versus a grappler, it all boils down to who can execute their game plan effectively. I find myself rooting for O’Malley in this one, as he needs to use his length wisely against Dvalishvili’s wrestling prowess.

MMA fighter Paddy Pimblett, currently competing in the UFC lightweight division, has expressed his thoughts on the upcoming bantamweight title bout between UFC bantamweight champ Sean O’Malley and top-ranked contender Merab Dvalishvili. In a recent conversation with Action Network, Pimblett shared his insights on this highly anticipated matchup.

In a nutshell, it’s about who executes their strategy best – grappler versus striker. Pimbett commented on Dvalishvili’s social media post about his cut, which seemed to upset UFC president Dana White. He found it amusing. Essentially, Sean needs to utilize his reach against Merab’s wrestling tactics because we are well aware that Merab aims to tackle Sean, bring him down, control him on the ground, and essentially choke the life out of him.

He continued, “But, Sean needs to keep it range. He uses kicks, uses punches. And it’s just, as I say, it’s whoever can implement the game plan.”

As a gamer, I can hardly contain my excitement! O’Malley and Dvalishvili are set to square off in the main event at The Sphere in the heart of Las Vegas. This battle is not just any fight – it’s historic for the promotion, marking both UFC 306 and UFC Noche. And get this, it’s all brought to you by Rhiyad Season! It’s a packed sentence, but trust me, it’s going to be an unforgettable night of mixed martial arts action!

Paddy Pimblett wants Renato Moicano or Dan Hooker next

Beyond the debate about O’Malley vs. Dvalishvili, Pimblett shared his preferences for a future matchup. With Rafael Dos Anjos announcing he won’t compete in lightweight anymore and moving to welterweight, Pimblett indicated that he might progress through the rankings anyway. However, he expressed interest in fighting Renato Moicano, who has shown interest in facing him as well.

At UFC 304, Pimblett secured a significant victory against King Green. Meanwhile, Moicano also achieved a major triumph over Jalin Turner at UFC 300. However, his next bout will be against Benoît Saint-Denis at UFC Paris.

“I think it’d be a fun fight for everyone involved. We’d end up having a good fight. Yeah. If it was up to me, it’s Moicano. It’s a good scrap,” he said. I’ll just keep fighting and winning. If I get offered Dan Hooker I’ll take it. Jump right up to rank 5, and then it probably will be in a title eliminator next. So, yeah, I’m game for any of them. As I say, any name gets sent to me, that’s all sound. I’m not shying away from fighting anyone.”
