Paddy McGuinness’ Ex Christine ‘Utterly Miserable’ Over £2.5m Mansion
In a unique turn of events, Paddy McGuinness and his stylish ex-spouse Christine agreed to an unconventional divorce settlement that allowed them both to continue residing in their shared £2.5 million residence. This arrangement was contingent on them cohabiting the property despite their tumultuous separation, which involved hiring confrontational legal representatives. However, it seemed they aspired – perhaps optimistically – to preserve tranquility and harmony under one roof, raising their three children together.
It appears that Paddy was the primary force behind the deal’s execution. Those privy to their situation mention that he was hesitant to part ways with the expansive seven-bedroom estate in Cheshire, complete with a pool, fitness center, and glass balcony.
According to Christine’s acquaintances, moving to a smaller three-bedroom house could potentially diminish his sense of self-importance quite significantly. Furthermore, the ex-host of Top Gear, who now presents a Sunday morning show on Radio 2, seems to take great pleasure in being the ruler of his domain.
Maybe he’s been consistently presenting a favorable outlook about their shared living situation, a trend that seems to resonate with many British couples struggling financially and unable to sell their homes, as well as his relationship with Christine in a more optimistic light.
In an interview published in the Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine yesterday, the 51-year-old host expressed high praise for the arrangement. He stated, “If handled with respect, it can work out.” He also commented on situations where people disagree vehemently, expressing that such conflicts must be truly awful.
This, however, was news to Christine. And the way she tells it, it’s a very different picture.
Instead of happily coexisting with her ex-spouse, the 36-year-old former model who now works as a TV host has admitted to her close friends that she is truly unhappy in their current circumstances.
She’s preparing herself for another fight, having made it clear to Paddy that she intends to put the house on the market, all this coming only a few months following their divorce settlement.
It’s not surprising that Paddy, who is now performing his comedy act across the UK, isn’t particularly enthusiastic about it.
He informed Weekend that his plan remained unchanged – he would continue residing in the mansion. Furthermore, he expressed a good deal of positivity, stating that the situation didn’t seem challenging for him.
It’s caused some surprise among Christine’s friends, as they believe he may delay the sale until he accumulates sufficient funds to purchase a house fitting his preferred lifestyle.
A person shared this information with me: ‘Christine has reached her limit and can no longer tolerate living with Paddy. He has freedom to come and go as he wishes, while Christine is responsible for the kids at home.’
His standpoint is that he requires a home similar to the one he currently owns, contrasting with Christine, who values the happiness of their children more than the size of their residence.
He informed her that following the tour, he would have sufficient funds. Yet, since he’d just scheduled additional performances in Ireland, she finds it hard to comprehend why he’s still hesitating to proceed with their plans.
According to people who know her well, Christine doesn’t prioritize a grand mansion like Paddy for status; instead, she needs to sell her current place to make a fresh start.
The friend went on, explaining that she’s eager to offload the house, divide the sale money, and then purchase a more compact home suitable for her family of five.
1) ‘She’s deeply dissatisfied with their current living situation and feels she’s reached her limit. She’s endured a lot, but now she can’t take it any longer. She’s made it clear to Paddy that she wants to leave.’
2) ‘She’s extremely unhappy about their living arrangement and has decided she’s had enough. She’s tolerated so much, but now she simply can’t bear it anymore. She’s informed Paddy that she wants out.’
3) ‘She’s terribly unhappy with the living situation they have, and she feels it’s time to move on. She’s put up with a lot, but her patience has worn thin. She’s told Paddy that she wants to leave.’
4) ‘She’s very discontented with their living arrangement and has made up her mind to leave. She’s had enough of enduring the difficulties, and can no longer continue. She’s communicated to Paddy that she wants to depart.’
5) ‘She’s incredibly frustrated with their living situation and feels it’s time for a change. She’s tolerated much, but her tolerance has reached its limit. She’s expressed to Paddy that she wants out.’
They also mentioned, ‘Currently, Christine is struggling emotionally, yearning for a fresh start without him in her life. Everything is quite challenging for her right now, and her friends are deeply concerned about her wellbeing.’

In summary, their story concludes unfortunately, as they’ve been together since Christine was in her late teenage years, and they tied the knot in a glamorous wedding at Thornton Manor, on the Wirral, back in 2011 surrounded by celebrities.
In their family, there are three children: 11-year-old twins named Leo and Penelope, as well as Felicity, aged eight. All of these kids have been diagnosed with autism, including the oldest member, Christine, who was also diagnosed in 2021.
In the ensuing year, Christine joined the ITV reality series The Games, an experience that seemed to rejuvenate her. Meanwhile, it was common knowledge that there were issues brewing for quite a while between them, and whispers started about their potential separation.
Indeed, they declared their split during the summer of 2022, and their divorce was concluded in December. However, it’s being suggested by Christine’s friends that she didn’t receive a fair share in the settlement.
It was generally perceived that Paddy was prolonging the divorce proceedings, aiming to postpone it until the following year… He appeared to lack urgency in finalizing the divorce and dividing their assets as the current state of affairs seemed beneficial to him.
After all that transpired, Christine yearned for liberation from him, so she agreed to one of the earliest offers presented.
In December 2022, Paddy’s career on Top Gear ended following Freddie Flintoff’s accident at Dunsfold Aerodrome that resulted in severe injuries for him. Recently, he provoked anger among Christine’s friends when he made a critical remark about her during a comedy performance last week.
Approximately a minute and thirty-three seconds into his program titled “Nearly There,” he declared, ‘Tonight’s focus is love and respect… It doesn’t matter whether you belong to a specific race, religion, sexuality, or gender identity. I don’t discriminate.’
Tonight, everyone gathered shares a universal aim – to assist in covering my divorce expenses. I’ve faced some tough times financially, to put it mildly.
Tonight, we’re here united for one purpose – to support me through this challenging financial situation caused by my divorce. I’ve been going through a rough patch, to say the least.
It’s accurate to conclude that the joke didn’t land well with Christine. Her friends described her as ‘enraged,’ and this anger was heightened when he attempted to have her sign a confidentiality agreement during their settlement discussion, an action that Paddy denies.
A source mentioned that Christine tends to show a more lenient side towards Paddy, according to her friends’ observations.
‘We just want her to be happy.’
