Paddy McGuinness and his ex wife Christine ‘are struggling to sell their £6.5M Cheshire mansion’ after she was left ‘fuming over the price tag’

It’s reported that Paddy McGuinness and his former wife, Christine, have been finding it challenging to sell their expensive mansion in Cheshire, worth approximately £6.5 million.

In June 2022, the couple chose to go their separate ways, yet they’ve remained under the same roof due to the needs and well-being of their three kids, who still reside with them in the house.

Currently, The Sun is stating that they haven’t shown much enthusiasm for the property during the last five months, according to a source, who claims it’s excessively priced, even considering its upscale location.

Later reports in March suggested that Christine became upset because she felt the price of the house had been deliberately increased to make it less appealing for potential buyers.

A source told The Sun on Wednesday that Christine is ‘unhappy’ and wants to move out.

The publication was informed that the property is a charming one, fully equipped with modern amenities, situated in an excellent location, yet it has received minimal attention so far.

The priciest home listed in Prestbury on Rightmove, but at present, the real estate market seems to be somewhat sluggish.

Representatives for Paddy and Christine have been contacted by TopMob for comment.

In March, Christine felt enraged when her husband, Paddy, listed their family home for sale at a £6.5 million price tag. She suspected that he had artificially increased the price to prevent the house from being sold.

Her friends worried back then that she might need to keep residing with the ex-host of Top Gear for an extended period due to the property’s high price tag, which is a considerable £4.4 million higher than what was paid for it in 2020. Potential buyers might find this excessive cost off-putting.

‘It is so overpriced, Paddy doesn’t want to sell which seems like another tactic by him.

It’s hard to believe that Paddy is selling their house for such a high price, considering they’ve only owned it for five years, and the housing market hasn’t seen significant growth during this period,” a source close to the McGuinness family remarked.

The house is overpriced by two-thirds of its purchase price, which makes it unlikely to be sold. It seems as if Patrick is trying to exert control over the situation, keeping Christine residing in the house with him for a prolonged period.

It appears that Christine communicated her inability to continue living with him, but it seems she may need to do so for an extended period still.

During a conversation with the Weekend Magazine of The Daily Mail, Paddy opened up about his shared living arrangement with Christine, hinting that they plan to remain residing together in the future.

He expressed that things remain unchanged for him, and he finds it straightforward rather than complicated. He added that it might seem different if one grew up in a harmful household (let’s hope not).

Inquired about their unconventional family setup, Paddy explained: “When I’m at home with the children, it’s wonderful. On the other hand, when I’m working and Christine takes care of the kids at home, that’s equally fantastic.

‘Being with you there is great. But what truly matters to me is the happiness of my kids.’

The estate includes a personal fitness center, a large play area for children filled with soft play items, separate wardrobes for him and her, a conservatory, and a combined dining and kitchen space.

The home boasts seven bedrooms, each with an attached bathroom, making it ideal for accommodating family and friends. Real estate agents marketing the property refer to it as a ‘custom-made’ dwelling for such gatherings.

Paddy, aged 51, anticipates earning a £4.4 million gain from his property investment, having bought it for £2.1 million in 2020.

For several months, they remodeled the house prior to settling in, to accommodate their growing family’s requirements.
