Paddington and Paddington 2 have been added back onto Netflix

As a long-time fan of the charming and lovable Paddington Bear, I must say that I couldn’t be more thrilled with the recent news! With the third movie, “Paddington in Peru,” set to hit cinemas next week, having the opportunity to revisit the first two films on Netflix is an absolute treat.

The films “Paddington” and “Paddington 2” have returned to Netflix just before the third movie hits theaters in a week.

Last month, the initial two episodes from a popular series were removed from the streaming platform in both the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Consequently, the films have been brought back, giving fans a chance to watch them again prior to the release of the third movie, titled “Paddington in Peru“, which is scheduled for November 8th on the big screen.

Paddington, the cherished bear, will accompany the Brown family on a trip to Peru as they pay a visit to his dear aunt Lucy, who resides in the Bear Retirement Home.

But if Aunt Lucy can’t be located, the group embarks on a journey deep into the woods to search for her instead.

In this next installment, I’ll be joining forces once more with familiar faces like Ben Whishaw and Hugh Bonneville. But that’s not all! We’ve got some exciting newcomers too – Olivia Colman, Antonio Banderas, and Carla Tous are all jumping aboard the cast. And if you remember Mrs Brown from Sally Hawkins, get ready because Emily Mortimer is stepping into those shoes this time around.

Mortimer recently stated that he feels honored after Bonneville proposed the idea, expressing it as “it’s a great compliment.

She expressed that the idea was quite daunting in many aspects, as it involved immersing herself into a new role and character. It seemed like a significant task. However, refusing – not just Hugh but also Paddington – would feel rather ungracious. It’s exhilarating. It’s an honor.

“It’s impossible to refuse Paddington. Should he ever become harmful, he could certainly cause trouble. He’s a figure of great authority. You simply can’t dismiss him.” (Informal)

Already, there are plans underway for a fourth Paddington film as we celebrate the beloved character’s 70th anniversary.

Paddington in Peru is released in UK cinemas on November 8 and in US cinemas on January 17, 2025.
