Paddington 4 potential release date, cast and everything you need to know
As a seasoned gamer and film enthusiast who has spent countless hours immersed in the magical world of Paddington, I can confidently say that the anticipation for Paddington 4 is as real as the marmalade sandwiches our beloved bear so cherishes.
While there’s no official confirmation yet, it’s likely that the much-loved character Paddington will have more big-screen adventures beyond his journey to Peru.
In September 2024, Françoise Guyonnet, CEO of StudioCanal’s kids & family division, announced that they are developing a new TV series and a movie scheduled for release in 2027 and 2028. These productions will align with the 70th anniversary of the beloved character, Paddington.
Since that time, there’s been no further news on a potential Paddington 4. However, if Paddington in Peru performs well at the cinema, it’s likely we’ll see Paddington and the Brown family returning for another film.
Keeping such anticipation at heart, let me share all the essential details regarding the upcoming movie, Paddington 4. (Be aware that the following discussion may reveal spoilers for Paddington in Peru.)
Paddington 4 potential release date: When can we expect Paddington 4?
To clarify, it hasn’t been formally declared that there will be a Paddington 4 movie yet. Consequently, as of November 2024, no official release date has been set for the film.
Since the upcoming movie is intended to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the character, we can predict its release date quite accurately.
If the fourth Paddington movie is indeed produced, we can expect its release to be around October 2028, following the pattern of a 50-year interval since the original book was published in 1958.
It’s been the pattern that a new Paddington film releases in British theaters around November. This year, it seems we may need to hold on for an additional month. Keep in mind that unforeseen setbacks, as experienced with the third movie, could occur, so this is all just speculation at this point.
Paddington 4 cast: Who’s coming back for Paddington 4?
As for the cast of Paddington 4, an official confirmation is still pending, but based on reasonable assumptions, here’s a prediction about who might reprise their roles.
Ben Whishaw and Imelda Staunton will once more lend their voices to Paddington and Aunt Lucy respectively. The entire Brown family is set to return in the next installment, making it: “Ben Whishaw and Imelda Staunton will reprise their roles as Paddington and Aunt Lucy. We’ll see the Brown family again.
– Hugh Bonneville portrays the character of Henry Brown
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but speculate about potential cast changes – like the possibility of Mortimer stepping into the role of Mrs. Brown, replacing Sally Hawkins, in the upcoming third movie. However, we won’t know for sure until an official announcement is made for the next film.
In the film “Paddington in Peru,” we didn’t encounter many residents of Windsor Gardens. It’s hoped that actors like Ben Miller, Jessica Hynes, and Robbie Gee will have more opportunities to shine in the next movie, along with Jim Broadbent as Samuel Gruber.
Following his unexpected cameo during the end credits of Paddington 3, there’s a strong possibility that we’ll see Hugh Grant reprise his role as Phoenix Buchanan once more. He hinted to Paddington that he was soon to be freed, suggesting that he might return to his old mischievous ways.
In addition, we wouldn’t mind the idea of a villain collaboration featuring Nicole Kidman as Millicent Clyde, Olivia Colman as Clarissa Cabot, and Antonio Banderas as the initially villainous character, Hunter Cabot. However, by the end of the third film, Hunter seems to have been redeemed.
Paddington 4 plot: What could happen in Paddington 4?
As a gamer, I can’t help but ponder about what could potentially unfold in the upcoming ‘Paddington in Peru.’ Since it’s not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we’re free to speculate based on where our beloved bear friend ends up at the close of this movie.
Upon learning that El Dorado, which turned out to be an expansive citrus orchard guarded by bears instead of a gold-filled location, was his true origin, Paddington surprisingly opts to join the Brown family again in their journey back to London.
“They are my tribe, but you are my family,” he tells them.
After their journey, Paddington and the Brown family find themselves back at home, but it’s not quite the same as before. Mr. Brown has moved on to a new role (now heading the department of calculated risks), Judy is off attending university, and Jonathan has embarked on an entrepreneurial venture by starting his own company called Chill Inc.
In the upcoming fourth film, there’s a strong possibility that Phoenix Buchanan could be free from prison when the story unfolds. Perhaps instead, the following movie could focus on him attempting to convince Paddington to join his production of the Goldilocks musical.
It’s quite certain that the upcoming movie, Paddington 4, will probably stir our emotions yet again, making us ponder on becoming even kinder individuals.
Paddington 4 trailer: Any Paddington 4 footage yet?
Unfortunately, production for Paddington 4 hasn’t begun and won’t be starting anytime soon. In the interim, you can enjoy watching both Paddington and Paddington 2 on Netflix, or catch up with the latest release, Paddington in Peru, which is currently showing in UK cinemas.
Paddington 4 does not yet have a release date.
