Paddington 4 just got an exciting update ahead of Paddington in Peru digital release
The upcoming film, Paddington 4, has just gotten more thrilling as news about its release comes closer to that of its prequel, Paddington’s Journey to Peru.
This animated show chronicles the escapades of our beloved bear character, voiced by Ben Whishaw, and the Brown family. They continually find themselves in various predicaments, and the newest episode finds them embarking on a journey to explore Paddington’s native land, Peru.
After the release of three highly acclaimed and financially successful movies, audiences have been speculating about whether there would be a fourth addition to the series. Now, fans are excited following the confirmation by Studiocanal CEO, Anna Marsh, and her deputy at Canal+ that another film is indeed in development.
She shared with Deadline that there will indeed be a fourth movie. In the meantime, they are brainstorming ideas for future films, developing a new television series, and collaborating with Sonia Friedman and Eliza Lumley on a stage show musical.
Marsh recently announced his update, following Rosie Alison’s statement from last month indicating that a fourth movie might be produced if the global performance of “Paddington in Peru” was impressive. The digital release of this film is set to occur in the United Kingdom today, while it premieres in the US tomorrow.
In a further discussion, Alison, now taking over as producer from David Heyman, delved deeper into the subject of ‘Paddington in Peru’, expressing: “I have a special affinity for the first two movies, but I must say, I’m particularly protective about the third film.
One aspect I’ve found particularly engaging while delving into the movies and developing the character is attempting to pinpoint those distinctive traits of Paddington that truly stand out.
The tales revolve around themes of getting lost and found, being divided and coming together. This narrative mirrors the classic immigrant experience, so it was fitting that a character struggling with love for two homelands became a central aspect in the third movie. Ultimately, he gets to decide his own fate at the end.
Pre-orders for “Paddington in Peru” are now open on Prime Video, with the digital version set for release tomorrow.
