Paddington 3 confirmed as longest Paddington movie

As a devoted Paddington fan who has grown up with this lovable bear, I must admit that I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming adventure, “Paddington in Peru.” Having witnessed the first two films in my youth and now revisiting them as an adult, I can’t help but feel nostalgic and excited for this new journey.

Paddington in Peru has been confirmed as the longest movie in the series – but only by a whisker.

In the upcoming chapter of this iconic game series, I find myself eagerly embarking on another grand journey, this time venturing back to the mystical lands of Peru. Unlike my previous solo escapades, I’ll be joined by the Brown family this time around. Can’t wait to see what adventures await us!

Prior to its launch next month, it’s official that the movie duration will be approximately 1 hour and 46 minutes, as per the Irish Film Classification Office.

That’s slightly ahead of Paddington 2’s 104 minutes, and Paddington’s 95 minutes.

In the story, we’ll find Paddington embarking on a trip to locate his Aunt Lucy at the Retirement Home for Bears in Peru. However, upon arrival, he is informed by the Reverend Mother, played by Olivia Colman, that she has mysteriously vanished. This sets off an exciting journey deep into the Amazon, where Paddington will unravel the mystery surrounding his aunt’s disappearance.

In the newest sneak peek for the upcoming sequel, fans get a heartwarming glimpse into baby Paddington, who tells the tale about how his Aunt Lucy discovered him.

Besides the comeback of familiar faces like Ben Whishaw and Hugh Bonneville, this movie also introduces new members to the ensemble: Antonio Banderas, Carla Tous, and Emily Mortimer. Notably, Emily Mortimer is replacing Sally Hawkins in the role of Mrs Brown.

In a conversation with Empire, Bonneville explained candidly about the recent recast: “It’s simply a straightforward exchange. There wasn’t any messy separation or drama. Emily, in our opinion, was an ideal choice for the role.

Director Dougal Wilson stated, “We were fortunate to have Emily join our team. She exudes radiance, warmth, and intelligence; being a writer herself, she’s exceptionally skilled at improvisation. It’s a challenging role: She serves as the emotional heart of the Browns and has a deep emotional bond with Paddington.

Paddington in Peru opens in cinemas on November 8.
