As a huge fan of Steph McGovern, I’m absolutely thrilled to hear about her exciting new chapter in life. After the unexpected ending of “Steph’s Packed Lunch” on Channel 4, it was unclear what the future held for the beloved host. Steph McGovern has revealed she’s making a major professional shift now that “Steph’s Packed Lunch” has concluded (as reported in The Yorkshire Post).
Beginning in 2020 and running through 2023 on Channel 4, this widely-watched daytime program surprised many when it was unceremoniously canceled last December. Now, its charismatic host has announced she will be venturing into a fresh realm by penning books as an author.
At Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival, McGovern revealed that she had penned down a novel. “Deadline,” she explained, was an idea for a book that had been lingering in my mind since my breakfast TV hosting beginnings.”
Over the past few years, I’ve had the hidden opportunity to inhabit an alternate reality through writing. In this world, I’ve been immersed in stressful, public workplaces and encountered intriguing individuals whose experiences have influenced my own creation – a gripping tale of power, deceit, and corruption.
She expressed her excitement: “It’s a thrill to debut my book at the Theakston Old Ppeculier Crime Writing Festival. For the past decade, I’ve attended this event to meet my favorite writers. Now, being an author and presenting here is an indescribable feeling.”
