The BBC has provided reasons behind their choice to withhold the broadcast of a documentary on the late rock icon, Ozzy Osbourne.
BBC News announced on Tuesday that they postponed the release of their documentary focusing on Ozzy Osbourne’s later years, as they wanted to show sensitivity towards his family who are still grieving following the death of Black Sabbath’s lead singer, who passed away from a heart attack on July 22 at age 76.
The BBC expressed their condolences to the Osbourne family during this challenging period, stating they will delay the broadcast of the unique film until the family is ready. They plan to announce the revised broadcast date soon.

On Monday, BBC created quite a stir when they unexpectedly removed “Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home” from their scheduled broadcast, originally set for that evening. A representative of BBC confirmed to various media outlets that the film has simply been rescheduled, with further details about the new air date to be revealed at a later time. However, they did not provide an explanation for this sudden change in plans.
Ozzy Osbourne, known for living with Parkinson’s disease, passed away about two weeks following his emotional goodbye concert in Birmingham, England. On August 7th, the BBC announced a documentary titled “Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home,” which was set to depict the English rock legend’s last years, covering his health struggles and the build-up to his final performance. The film was made over three years and includes Ozzy’s wife Sharon Osbourne, as well as their children Kelly, Jack, and daughter Aimee.
Initially, the documentary was planned as a multiple-part series called “Home to Roost.” However, as the rocker’s health began to decline, it transformed into a standalone, hour-long film.
