The trailer for Ozzy Osbourne’s upcoming documentary shows his farewell concert was a special gift from his wife, Sharon. It came after he spent six years battling health issues and depression.
The full-length film, directed by Tania Alexander – who has won a BAFTA award – will be released on October 7th and was created with the help of the Osbourne family.
The documentary, *Ozzy: No Escape From Now*, reveals how ongoing chronic pain impacted Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne both emotionally and creatively, particularly during the later stages of his career.
The new trailer, released on Friday, reveals how Sharon organized his last concert just weeks before he passed away.
In the movie, Sharon suggests putting on a large farewell concert. Ozzy responds that he wants to express his gratitude to his fans for all their support over the years.
The clip then jumps forward, with Sharon telling him: ‘July 5th is the date.’

Drummer Chad Smith adds to the camera: ‘This is Sharon’s gift to Ozzy. You deserve this.’
The trailer goes on to show Sharon working behind the scenes to organise the concert.
She tells the camera: ‘It’s going to be a celebration for everyone.’
Chad continues: ‘It’s just beautiful, you know. The vibe of this thing and the intent is perfect.’
Honestly, after every show, as I’m leaving, Ozzy always says something that really sticks with me. He was saying the other day that for him, it *has* to be the best show possible. He believes if it’s not, then what’s the point of even getting up there and performing? It’s a really powerful thought, and it explains why he still puts everything he has into every single performance.
The documentary also explores how Ozzy’s ongoing pain affected his mental well-being and influenced the music he created at the time.
Sharon Osbourne explained that during his lowest point, her husband felt completely hopeless. He’d ask himself why he should even bother getting out of bed, and refused to participate in physiotherapy, questioning the value of trying.
The singer explains that his 2019 collaboration with Post Malone, “Take What You Want,” marked the beginning of a fresh direction in his long and successful music career. He and producer Andrew Watt were the ones who initially made the song happen.

Honestly, recording that track completely lifted me out of a really dark place. It genuinely helped, and at the time, it felt like the best thing that could have happened to me – a real lifeline, if I’m being honest. That’s what I told them in the film when I was remembering it all.
The film also reveals the stories behind Ozzy Osbourne’s later albums, the critically praised ‘Ordinary Man’ from 2020 and ‘Patient Number 9’ from 2022, which won two Grammy Awards and feature some of his most personal and thoughtful songs.
Jack Osbourne feels his father’s album, ‘Ordinary Man,’ is more a personal reflection of John Osbourne as a person than a typical Ozzy Osbourne album.
The work explores his personal struggles with life, death, and the challenges he’s currently dealing with.
‘I took dad to the studio every single day,’ adds Kelly.
He’d head down to the basement studio in Andrew’s house and settle into the chair Andrew had gotten for him, and that’s when he felt the creativity start to flow.
The documentary includes personal footage of Ozzy Osbourne at home and while recording music. It also follows his unexpected decision to perform at the 2022 Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony in the UK, and shows how he prepared for the show.
I’m so excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at a really special time! We’ll be diving into the soundcheck from his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction last October, and then we’ll follow him all the way back to his roots with the incredible ‘Back To The Beginning’ show he played at Villa Park in Birmingham last July. It’s a journey that shows how far he’s come, and it’s truly inspiring.

As someone who follows cultural moments, I’ve been following the documentary about Ozzy Osbourne. It was originally planned to come out while he was still with us, but now it feels even more special. The filmmakers have shared that it really showcases his incredible bravery, sense of humor, drive, and of course, his amazing talent – all the things that have made him an icon for so many people, and will continue to inspire for years to come.
The event will feature performances by legendary musicians including Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, Duff McKagan and Slash from Guns N’ Roses, Robert Trujillo and James Hetfield of Metallica, Billy Idol, Maynard James Keenan of Tool, and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers.
As someone who loves diving into the stories behind iconic figures, I can tell you that getting to hear from Ozzy Osbourne’s inner circle has been incredibly moving. Zakk Wylde, his guitarist for years, along with incredibly talented people like producer Andrew Watt, and musicians Billy Morrison, Tom Morello, Mike Inez, and Billy Corgan, have all shared really personal and touching insights into the man behind the legend. It’s a beautiful look at Ozzy through the eyes of those who know him best.
Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic singer of Black Sabbath, died on July 22nd at the age of 76. He was buried on the property of his home in Buckinghamshire, England.
He was buried a week later on July 30.
Ozzy was buried last month on the grounds of his home in Buckinghamshire, in a private ceremony with his family and many famous musicians.
Sharon, his wife, and their children were joined by celebrities like Marilyn Manson and Zakk Wylde, Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist, at a gathering held on their 250-acre property near Gerrards Cross.
Official documents listed three causes of death for the rock legend.

The patient’s medical history included a cardiac arrest that happened outside of a hospital, a heart attack, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson’s disease, which also affected their autonomic nervous system.
Ozzy Osbourne’s family announced last month that he had passed away peacefully this morning, surrounded by loved ones. They expressed their immense sadness in a statement, saying no words could truly capture their grief.
The BBC reportedly had to postpone airing a documentary about Ozzy Osbourne last month because his family worried it hadn’t been given enough time to be properly made.
Just hours before it was supposed to air, the TV special ‘Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home’ – described as a heartfelt look at the singer’s recent life – was unexpectedly pulled from the schedule, and no reason was given.
It’s now clear the broadcaster was forced to make changes at the last minute because the Osbourne family felt the show was being rushed.
Both the BBC and Paramount+ were making documentaries about the musician, after gaining access to him during the last three years of his life. Reports suggest the two channels were competing to release previously unreleased footage.
The documentary was delayed, likely because of these concerns and the family’s worries about its general feel and message.
According to a source, there was concern that the BBC was hurrying the release of its Ozzy Osbourne documentary, particularly since Paramount+ was also preparing a film about him.
The BBC initially planned a ten-episode series following Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s return to the UK, titled ‘Home To Roost.’ After Ozzy’s passing, the project was changed to a single film.
According to a source close to the family, they were most concerned with how the show portrayed Ozzy and Sharon, especially since it included one of their final interviews as a couple.
It seemed the BBC and the filmmakers were prioritizing getting their show out before the Paramount+ documentary. This has understandably worried the family involved.
Ozzy: No Escape From Now will air on October 7 on Paramount+.
