Ozzy Osbourne says he would be ‘honoured’ to collaborate with Sir Paul McCartney but ‘couldn’t’ because The Beatles legend turned him down

As a die-hard fan, I can only imagine the electrifying energy that would surge through me if Ozzy Osbourne and Sir Paul McCartney ever collaborated! Ozzy himself has expressed his deep respect for the opportunity, stating he’d feel ‘honored’ to work alongside such a legendary figure. Yet, alas, fate seems to have other plans as the fabulous Beatle graciously declined the offer, leaving us fans dreaming about what could have been!

Previously, the lead singer of Black Sabbath, who is now 76 years old, had attempted to persuade Sir Paul, aged 83, to contribute a bass line to one of their heavy metal songs. However, Sir Paul chose not to participate in this collaboration.

On a fresh installment of his SiriusXM program titled Ozzy Speaks, the artist disclosed that he continues to have dreams about collaborating musically with the legendary Beatle who sang “Let It Be”.

Responding to a query from his fellow host Billy Morrison about whom he would enjoy singing a duet with, he casually mentioned: “Paul McCartney.

But Ozzy quickly added: ‘I would be honoured but I couldn’t…’

As a devoted admirer, I’ve often shared that this legendary Liverpool-based band served as an immense inspiration in my life ever since I was a young lad.

Previously, he expressed to Heat magazine about their unsuccessful partnership: “Encountering Paul McCartney was simply extraordinary.

‘I was in the studio at the same time as him and tried to get him to play bass on one of my songs.

However, he claimed he couldn’t enhance the existing bassline. I responded, “That’s absurd! I’d embrace even a minor improvement as if it were the most significant aspect of my life.

As an unabashed fanatic, I can’t help but rave about Ozzy Osbourne’s latest solo masterpiece, 2022’s Patient Number 9! This album is a star-studded affair, with the likes of my idol Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath, legends like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Zakk Wylde, and even Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready gracing its tracks. It’s a musical dream come true for me!

As a lifestyle expert, I’m gearing up for what will be my final performance with the legendary band Black Sabbath at the Back To The Beginning concert in Birmingham’s Villa Park on July 5th. It’s an incredible opportunity to close this chapter of my life and career on such a significant stage.

Notable attendees will be rock icons such as Metallica, Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins, Duff McKagan and Slash of Guns ‘N Roses, Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit, Korn’s Jonathan Davis, and Anthrax.

After Ozzy had disclosed a private personal struggle prior to what’s advertised as his last concert this summer.

Ozzy is set to perform for the first time since late 2018, marking his return after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

As the show date draws nearer, Ozzy has shared about his struggles with self-assurance and performance anxiety.

On the Ozzy Speaks podcast on SiriusXM, he shared: “I struggle with ADHD quite a bit, to the point where it’s driving me insane. Often times, I finish the show and only then do I start my exercises – I might as well be dead by then. So I try to postpone them.

‘I’m not going up there saying “It’s going to be great. I’m really confident.”

In my mind, I felt like I had met an untimely end, and I recall a moment in Las Vegas where I was backstage, saying to myself, “I’m going to take a chance. I’m going to live boldly.

He went on to explain: ‘I decided to perform the concert, and it was just a couple of songs. Sharon advised me, ‘don’t give it a second thought.’ I got worked up over a bird dropping waste on my show.

‘All I can assure is that I am giving my maximum effort, 120%. If divine will allows me to perform, then I will do so. Sometimes, when I focus too much on the clock, I can go mad by Friday. Therefore, I’m simply taking things one step at a time.’

The artist is uncertain if they should sing while standing or seated, due to a sequence of spine surgeries.

Back in the groovy ’70s, I was part of the music scene, and there was one band that truly shook things up – Black Sabbath. They were the trailblazers who gave birth to heavy metal music with tunes like War Pigs, Paranoid, and Iron Man.

Black Sabbath has performed in various forms since their last joint appearance in 2005, but they’ve yet to take the stage as their classic, original band members.

Before the performance, Ozzy is undergoing rigorous training that involves having his blood pressure checked fifteen times daily.

He shared: “I’m working with a trainer who assists individuals in regaining their regular state of health. It’s a challenging process, but he is confident that he can help me, and I am putting all my effort into making it happen.

‘It’s endurance. The first thing that goes when you’re laid up is your stamina.

I have a heart rate monitor clipped to my fingertip that checks my blood pressure fifteen times a day.

This month, Ozzy assured that he would proceed with the performance, expressing to The Guardian, “I will attend, and I’ll give it my all. Thus, I can only show up.
