Ozzy Osbourne reveals softer side as he dotes on his grandkids in sweet photos shared after the rocker’s death

Though often referred to as the “Prince of Darkness” during performances, Ozzy Osbourne appeared to emit warmth and brightness whenever he was around his grandchildren.

On Thursday, Lisa Stelly, formerly linked to Jack Osbourne, posted heartfelt photos on Instagram in memory of the deceased rock legend, affectionately referred to by her as ‘papa,’ who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 76.

Jack, fresh from disclosing a conversation he had with his dad post his last performance, is a parent to three offspring – daughters Pearl (age 13), Andy (age 10), and Minnie (age 7) – all of whom he shares with his former partner Lisa.

Apart from him, his three-year-old daughter Maple is shared with his present spouse, Aree Gearhart, who he married in 2023.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but cherish the moments when Lisa, despite her marital issues with Ozzy’s son, doesn’t hold any grudges against the legendary Black Sabbath frontman. Reflecting on the past, she fondly recalls his towering impact on her family’s life, as evidenced by heartwarming photographs of him radiating joy while spending time with his grandkids, a sight that never fails to bring a smile to my face.

‘The world got Ozzy. We got Papa,’ she wrote, calling him ‘One of one’ and ‘Larger than life.’

‘I find it hard to part ways, yet our time together was truly a blessing,’ she noted. ‘You’ll always be deeply missed.’

In contrast to his energetic performances on stage, whether with Black Sabbath or in his own concerts, Ozzy appeared peacefully at ease in the backstage photographs.

He flashed a gentle grin as he cradled Pearl, who beamed broadly for the camera, clutching a bloom tightly in her grasp.

In a joyful photo, the grandfather transformed back into his mischievous character, playing up a teasingly bold expression as he carried his young granddaughter on his shoulders.

In a family group photograph, he appeared perfectly content at home, reclining with an embrace around his two eldest granddaughters.

In one picture, Ozzy flashed a sly, amusing side smile alongside his ex-daughter-in-law, who seemed to be cradling her youngest child.

In another image, the renowned heavy metal figureplayfully allowed one of his tiny granddaughters to insert her fingers into his mouth, displaying a jovial and affectionate side.

Previously, he sweetly babbled to one of his grandchildren who was poised to give him a kiss, as they both lounged comfortably on a bed together.

Apart from showing how cute Ozzy is around his grandchildren, Lisa also emphasized the deep bond he has with creatures, especially cats.

In a brief moment, the singer’s adorable feline snuggled contentedly upon his torso, prompting him to quip playfully, “She’s quite the attractive pest.

Due to their admiration for animals, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) paid a heartfelt tribute to Osbourne not long after his passing.

Nevertheless, the animal rights group was bombarded with jokes and sarcastic remarks from spectators, alluding to an old event 43 years back when Osbourne infamously bit the head of a bat on stage. This sparked a wave of comments that suggested bats were seeking a conversation with him.

Nevertheless, for many years, he’s openly lamented about the occurrence, attributing it to an unexpected event involving a rodent being thrown onto the stage by a spectator.

As Ozzy believed it was just a rubber plaything, he took a bite playfully. However, he soon discovered that it was actually quite genuine.

In his later years he mused that the incident would never stop following him. 

‘Regardless of what else I accomplish in life, my grave marker will read: “December 3, 1948 – [Unknown Date]. He once bit the head off a bat,”‘ he said, with a touch of regret.

While focusing mainly on demonstrating Ozzy’s heartwarming attachment towards his grandkids, Lisa additionally shared a picture that depicted her sharing a special moment with the musician himself.

In a casual, scenic setting following dinner, which appeared to be in a tropical locale, Ozzy seemed drained, giving a tired yawn while sitting beside his ex-daughter-in-law outdoors.

Back in 2011, Lisa, a former actress and model, started seeing Jack. In April 2012, they became parents to a beautiful girl named Pearl. Six months after that, they decided to make it official by getting married.

In 2013, the couple shared the news of their upcoming second child, a baby boy. However, later that same year, Lisa unfortunately experienced a miscarriage.

Their daughter Andy was then born in June 2015, and Minnie followed in February of 2018. 

But only three months later the couple jointly announced that they were divorcing. 

In response to ongoing issues within their marriage, reports from various sources indicate that Lisa had initiated a divorce process back then. Eventually, her divorce from Ozzy Osbourne was legally completed in March 2019.

In the heartwarming month of December 2021, I found myself taking a significant step forward with the talented fashion designer, Aree Gearhart, as we exchanged wedding vows. Fast forward to July 2022, our love story was enriched even further as we welcomed our precious little girl, Maple, into our lives and hearts.
