Ozzy Osbourne, 76, reveals his plans to record new music in a shock move as he gears up for final ever gig with Black Sabbath amid ailing health

In an unexpected announcement, Ozzy Osbourne has disclosed his intentions to produce fresh tunes, preceding what appears to be the last performance of Black Sabbath.

76-year-old lead singer of Black Sabbath, the iconic band, is getting ready to perform one final show with them at Birmingham’s Villa Park during the “Back To The Beginning” concert on July 5th.

Over the last five years, Ozzy has experienced no less than seven surgical procedures, which included a fourth spinal surgery in September 2023, and he has been quietly dealing with Parkinson’s disease since 2003.

However, even though his health is struggling, the musician has disclosed that he plans to continue making music following his farewell concert.

To Metal Hammer magazine, Ozzy expressed his gratitude for being able to bid farewell with the assistance of numerous talented musicians and friends. He noted that, since the late 60s, they might be one of the few bands where all original members are still alive and communicating, as his wife puts it, there’s an unseen connection that remains unbroken.

I continue to find pleasure in completing tasks independently, and I also appreciate lending my voice to others’ works. In the near term, I plan to carry on with recording projects that pique my interest, as this is crucial.

As a devoted fan, I had the privilege of witnessing Ozzy Osbourne’s latest solo album, Patient Number 9 from 2022. This remarkable piece of music boasts an impressive roster of guest artists, including my esteemed Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi, guitar legends like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Zakk Wylde, and Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready to name a few.

Notable acts joining the lineup for the upcoming Black Sabbath concert are Metallica, Billy Corgan from The Smashing Pumpkins, Duff McKagan, Slash of Guns ‘N Roses, Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit, Korn’s Jonathan Davis, and Anthrax.

Following the disclosure of a private struggle, Ozzy announced it before his supposed last-ever concert this summer.

As the countdown continues for the upcoming performance, Ozzy has shared insights about his struggle with self-doubt and stage anxiety.

On Ozzy Speaks’ SiriusXM podcast, he mentioned: ‘I struggle with ADHD quite significantly, to the point where I might finish a show and be gone before I even begin my exercises. To cope, I often set them aside for later.’

‘I’m not going up there saying “It’s going to be great. I’m really confident.”

In retrospect, I believe I would have considered myself a goner had I been seated in Vegas once upon a time, in a dressing room, muttering to myself, “I’m going to take a chance. I’m going to risk it all.

He added: “I ended up ruining the performance. It was just a couple of songs. Sharon said, ‘Just don’t overthink it.’ I became excessively preoccupied with a bird supposedly defecating on my show.

‘I’m putting in my maximum effort, which is 120%. If divine will permits me, I’ll carry on with the show. When I worry too much about deadlines, I can drive myself mad by Friday. So, I’m dealing with each day as it comes.’

The artist is uncertain if they should sing while standing or seated after undergoing several back surgeries.

In the early ’70s, Black Sabbath paved the path for heavy metal music by producing popular tracks like War Pigs (referred to as “War Pig” or “War Pigs”), Paranoid, and Iron Man.

Black Sabbath has performed in various reunion configurations since 2005, but they’ve yet to come back as their classic, original band lineup.

Before the performance, Ozzy is strictly adhering to a rigorous training regimen that involves having his blood pressure checked fifteen times daily.

He explained: ‘I have got this trainer guy who helps people get back to normal.

Despite the tough journey ahead, he’s confident he can succeed on my behalf. I’m putting all my effort into this.

‘It’s endurance. The first thing that goes when you’re laid up is your stamina.

Fifteen times a day, I’m checking my blood pressure using a device attached to my finger, which serves as a heart rate monitor.

This month, Ozzy assured that he would carry on with the performance, stating to The Guardian: “I’ll make it, and I’ll give my all. All I can do is show up.
