In the thrilling finale against Al Qadsiah, Team Falcons clinched the 2025 Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) Midseason Championship (MSC). They dominated Al Qadsiah on all four maps, securing a significant portion of the $1,000,000 USD prize. Notably, Kim “Proper” Dong-hyun was awarded the MVP title, further amplifying Team Falcons’ triumphant celebrations.
From the LCQ to the very top: Team Falcons players win OWCS MSC 2025
The Team Falcons advanced to the OWCS MSC tournament following their triumph in the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), a journey that saw them rise through the ranks being especially gratifying. Boasting a coach like Kim “SP9RK1E” Yeong-han and renowned Overwatch 2 stars such as Proper, Ham “SOMEONE” Jeong-wan, and Choi “MER1T” Tae-min, they swiftly emerged as the team most likely to claim victory.
At the Esports World Cup (EWC), spectators enthusiastically supported Team Falcons during the championship game. As they clinched a 4-0 victory against Al Qadsiah on Circuit Royale, the crowd erupted in an even louder cheer than before. The victorious players leaped from their seats to embrace each other, celebrating a job well done.
“We are back as the champions.”
During the post-game interview, MER1T reminisced about claiming the silver medal at the Champions Clash tournament held in April. Yet, this latest win for Team Falcons avenges their past loss and brings them recognition on an international platform.
At the previous OWCS tournament, we placed second, but this time around, we’re returning as the victors,” MER1T expressed. “Needless to say, I’m absolutely thrilled at the moment.
SP9RK1E also contributed his opinions regarding the win. He stated, “Our team consistently gave stellar performances, thanks to their enhanced abilities. Consequently, it is us who are fortunate enough to raise the trophy at this moment.
By hoisting this trophy, Team Falcons have further enriched their list of significant achievements. They clinched victory at the inaugural OWCS World Finals as recently as November last year.
