Here’s what to expect during the Reign of Talon in Overwatch Seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Blizzard has shared its plans for Overwatch through the end of 2026, and it’s all focused on the ‘Reign of Talon’ storyline!
Overwatch Spotlight roadmap 2026
Blizzard’s plans for Overwatch in 2026, as revealed in their latest roadmap, include a four-season ‘Reign of Talon’ arc. The first season will be packed with content, including five new playable heroes, a major event where Overwatch clashes with Talon, new abilities called ‘hero sub-passives,’ fresh cosmetic items, a reset of competitive rankings, a new map called Vendetta set in Stadium, a ‘hero builder’ feature for the Stadium map, and a fun collaboration with Hello Kitty.
Season 2 is coming soon with a new hero and celebrations for Overwatch’s 10th anniversary! Players will also enjoy new ways to recognize great plays after matches, see Ramattra in the Stadium map, experience the Overwatch Champion Series (OWCS) Clash event, and unlock even more unique mythic items.
Overwatch Season 3 is bringing exciting new content, including a Japan-themed map called Night, the Overwatch Champions Series competition at the Esports World Cup, fresh mythic skins, and a brand-new hero to play.
Season 4 wraps up the year with a brand new hero, the BlizzCon 2026 convention, and the Overwatch World Cup.

All Overwatch Spotlight announcements
Overwatch Season 1 launches on February 10th and will introduce five new characters. But that’s not all – Blizzard plans to add five more heroes throughout Seasons 2 through 6. Interestingly, one of these upcoming heroes will be an omnic – a robotic being in the Overwatch universe.
Overwatch’s developers have announced that the story of Talon will be revealed throughout Season 1 through various in-game content like events, hero trailers, comics, stories, and map changes. Players can also expect a redesigned user interface and experience, and the game will now simply be known as ‘Overwatch’ – the ‘2’ has been removed from the title.
