They’re also collaborating with Hello Kitty and introducing a themed event based on in-game factions. Overwatch Season 1 release date

After removing the “2” from its title, the game has reverted to being called Season 1. Season 1 will launch on February 10, 2026.

Overwatch ConquestĀ event

The official trailer for Overwatch Season 1: Conquest is here! Blizzard Entertainment says that Overwatch and Talon are facing off in a five-week conflict. During the Conquest event, players can complete challenges, learn more about the game’s story, and unlock unique rewards based on the faction they support.

As a huge fan, I’m so excited to hear that Blizzard is letting us experience the story from both sides! It’s awesome that we’ll be able to switch perspectives and really get the full picture.

What to expect Overwatch Season 1

Overwatch’s Season 1, titled The Reign of Talon, introduces five new playable heroes: Mizuki and Jetpack Cat (supports), Emre and Anran (damage dealers), and Domina (tank). Alongside the new heroes, players can look forward to the Overwatch Conquest event, a new system for hero sub-passives, fresh mythic cosmetics, a reset of ranked play, the Vendetta game mode in Stadium, the Stadium hero builder, and a special collaboration with Hello Kitty and Friends.

Overwatch Mizuki abilities

  • Spirit Glaive (Primary Fire): Throw a spinning blade that can bounce off walls, impact enemies and rapidly deal damage.
  • Healing Kasa: Throw your hat to heal an ally, bouncing to nearby allies and healing you when it returns.
  • Katashiro Return: Leap forward, leaving behind a paper doll. Reactivate to return and gain increased movement speed while active.
  • Binding Chain: Launch a tethering chain that hinders the first enemy hit.
  • Kekkai Sanctuary (Ultimate): Create a sanctuary that heals allies and absorbs enemy projectiles from outside the area.
  • Remedy Aura (Passive): Heals nearby allies. Healing scales with resources generated by dealing damage and healing.

Overwatch Emre abilities

  • Synthetic Burst Rifle (Primary Fire): Three-round burst weapon.
  • Take Aim (Secondary Fire): Hold to zoom in, tightening accuracy and increasing fall-off range.
  • Siphon Blaster: Temporarily wield a semi-automatic pistol with life-stealing explosive rounds. Move faster and jump higher while wielded.
  • Cyber Frag: Throw a grenade that detonates shortly after bouncing.
  • Override Protocol (Ultimate): An override initiates, transforming you into a living weapon. Fires rapid explosive blasts or charged mega‑shots capable of wiping teams.
  • Altered Vitals (Passive): Passive health regeneration activates sooner and instantly restores 30 health when activated.

Overwatch Domina abilities

  • Photon Magnum (Primary Fire): Medium-range beam that culminates in a high impact shot.
  • Barrier Array: A segmented hard‑light barrier deployed in front of Domina. Each segment must be individually destroyed, creating dynamic defensive angles.
  • Crystal Charge: Project an explosive crystal and reactivate to denotate it.
  • Sonic Repulsors: Push enemies back, stunning them if they hit a wall.
  • Panopticon (Ultimate): Fire a hard-light barrier that imprisons enemies and detonates on expiration.
  • Reconstruction (Passive): Dealing damage with abilities restores shields.

Overwatch Anran abilities

  • Zhuque Fans (Primary Fire): Hand fans that shoot fiery projectiles.
  • Fan the Flames (Secondary Fire): Hot wind blast that amplifies burning damage.
  • Inferno Rush:Propel yourself forward and damage enemies you impact.
  • Dancing Blaze: Strike nearby enemies while dodging all damage.
  • Vermillion Ascent (Ultimate) (Alive): Charge forward, exploding on impact and instantly igniting enemies.
  • Vermillion Revival (Ultimate) (Dead): When dead, revive yourself in a fiery explosion.
  • IgnitionĀ (Passive): Hit enemies with fire attacks to burn them.

Overwatch Jetpack Cat abilities

  • Biotic Pawjectiles (Primary Fire): Mid‑range projectile spread that heals allies and damages enemies.
  • Lifeline: Toggle into transport mode, allowing an ally to be towed. Increases movement speed and heals your ally.
  • Frenetic Flight: Accelerate in your movement direction. Fuel recovery is slower while carrying another player.
  • Purr: Pulsing area heal that increases in frequency over time. Knockback nearby enemies when activated.
  • Catnapper (Ultimate): Dive towards a ground location, knocking down enemies and tethering the nearest one to you.
  • Jetpack (Passive): Permanent flight.

Overwatch sub-roles

Overwatch is introducing a new feature called sub-roles. This means the game’s heroes – tanks, damage dealers (DPS), and supports – will be further categorized into a total of ten different sub-roles.

Overwatch Hello Kitty skins

Season 1 introduces several new character skins. A special collaboration with Hello Kitty includes unique looks like Hello Kitty Juno, Cinnamoroll Kiriko, Pompompurin Mercy, My Melody D.Va, Kuromi Widowmaker, and Keroppi Lucio.

Overwatch Season 1 mythic skins

Throughout the year, each season will introduce two brand-new mythic hero skins. The first season starts with the Celestial Guardian skin for Mercy and the Juno’s Star Shooter weapon skin. Later in the season, Mei will get her very first mythic skin.

Overwatch is planning to release highly detailed “mythic” skins for Soldier: 76, Illari, and Mauga soon. Later in 2026, players can look forward to mythic weapon skins for Genji, Hanzo, and Sojourn.
