Overwatch Rush begins first regional test: Heroes, skins, and gameplay

I’m so excited! Blizzard just started the first regional test for Overwatch Rush, their mobile version of Overwatch! I got a sneak peek at all the heroes and skins, and even some early gameplay. It looks amazing so far!

Overwatch Rush is now available for players in the Philippines to try! This is the first time the game is being tested in a specific region, and for now, it’s only playable on Android devices through the Google Play Store.

Blizzard Entertainment says this playtest is all about getting valuable feedback and data from players to help make the game even better.

While players outside the Philippines canā€™t join this specific Overwatch Rush playtest, Blizzard Entertainment announced that the team is actively working to include more regions in future tests.

The team behind Overwatch Rush shared that they know many players are excited to try the game, and they’re equally eager to get it into your hands. They’re actively working to expand testing to more regions and promise to provide regular updates on their progress.

If you’re curious about the gameplay, you can watch the Overwatch Rush trailer. It shows a match with Reinhardt, Tracer, Soldier: 76, and Mercy on one side, and a team with another Reinhardt, Reaper, Pharah, and Lucio on the other.

Okay, so it looks like the teams are battling it out on Busanā€”but on the mobile version! And get thisā€”Reinhardt’s got the Magma Strike ability, which is awesome because that’s from the Overwatch Stadium mode. It’s a really cool twist to see in the match!

Overwatch Rush skins

A screenshot from Blizzard Entertainmentā€™s upcoming Overwatch Rush mobile game shows Tracer with unlockable skins. Players can earn these skins by reaching specific ranks within the game.

Based on reports from OWCavalry and Ceptolotl on X (formerly Twitter), the game will feature special, legendary-tier skins for Kiriko, Mercy, Tracer, Pharah, Soldier: 76, and Reinhardt.

All Overwatch Rush heroes

According to OWCavalry and s3cr11t, the Overwatch Rush roster features Reinhardt, Doomfist, Soldier 76, Pharah, Reaper, Tracer, Genji, Hanzo, Kiriko, Lucio, Mercy, and Brigitte. Notably, this version of Doomfist has a beard, a change from his usual appearance in Overwatch.
