Here’s our quick guide on how to fight against the cat in Overwatch.
Okay, so Jetpack Cat is the newest hero in Overwatch, and let me tell you, she’s a blast – and sometimes a pain to play against! I’ve been trying to figure out the best ways to deal with her, so I put together a guide to Jetpack Cat counters. I’ll also break down all her abilities and what makes her tick, just in case you’re wondering what you’re up against.
Overwatch Jetpack Cat counters
Heroes with precise, instant-hit weapons – like Soldier: 76, Cassidy, and Ashe – are good choices against Jetpack Cat. In Overwatch, these ‘hitscan’ heroes don’t have to lead their shots, unlike heroes who fire slower projectiles like Hanzo. Since Jetpack Cat spends a lot of time airborne, be sure to aim upwards, similar to how you’d fight heroes like Pharah or Echo.

- Baptiste
- Illari
- Juno
Overwatch JPC counters
Sombra is another hero effective against Jetpack Cat. She can use Hack to stop Jetpack Cat from preparing her ultimate, cut her lifeline, and break up her flying speed. Sombra’s Translocator lets her quickly reach higher areas and get to Jetpack Cat, and her EMP ultimate can completely disrupt Jetpack Cat’s abilities.
If you’re a support player, Ana can provide some extra damage. Baptiste and Illari are also good choices with their accurate, hitscan weapons. And when playing Juno, she excels at aerial combat, using her homing Pulsar Torpedoes to target enemies like Jetpack Cat.
Overwatch Jetpack Cat abilities
Jetpack Cat can seem overwhelming when you first play against her, but once you learn her weaknesses, she becomes much more manageable. It might take a little while to figure her out, as she’s a relatively new addition to the game, having been released on February 10th. A surprisingly effective strategy is to actually play as Jetpack Cat yourself. This helps you understand her abilities and anticipate what she’ll do next.
