Here’s everything to know about the Anran trial in Overwatch!
Blizzard Entertainment has officially revealed Anran, a new hero coming to Overwatch! The announcement was made during the recent Overwatch Spotlight event. Here’s everything you need to know about when you can try her out, how long the trial will last, her powers, and her role in the game’s story.

Overwatch Anran trial
The Overwatch playtest for the new hero, Anran, will run from February 5th to February 10th. During this five-day period, players can test out all of her skills and abilities before she’s officially released in the game.
Overwatch Anran release date
Anran will become playable in Overwatch on February 10th, coinciding with the end of her in-game trial and the beginning of Overwatch Season 1 in 2026. Blizzard Entertainment has simplified the game’s name by removing the “2” from “Overwatch 2”, so the new season is simply called Season 1.
Overwatch Anran abilities
Anran’s main attack is called Zhuque Fans, and she has a secondary attack called Fan the Flames. Her abilities are Inferno Rush and Dancing Blaze. She stands out because she has two ultimate abilities: Vermillion Ascent and Vermillion Revival. Her passive ability, Ignition, causes her fire attacks to burn enemies. She also has a passive role as a Flanker, meaning she gets extra health from health packs.

Overwatch Anran perks
Anran’s abilities include Smoulder, Heat Shield, and Short Fuse. She has one other powerful ability, but it isn’t clearly visible in the image of her skillset.

Who is Anran in Overwatch?
In Overwatch, Anran Wuyang has an older sister named Wuyang. Wuyang studies at the Water College of Wuxing University, while Anran excels at the Fire College, continuing her family’s legacy there.
Anran and Wuyang had a falling out during Null Sector’s attack on their school and went their separate ways. But when Wuyang learned his sister was in trouble, he rushed to help. Together, they fought bravely against their attackers, and afterwards, they were happily reunited with their parents.
