Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland Event, Avatar: The Last Airbender Crossover, and 6v6 Test Now Available

As a seasoned Overwatch player with countless hours under my belt, this latest update from Blizzard has me absolutely thrilled! The return of the Role Queue and 2-2-2 rules harks back to the good old days, reminding us all why we fell in love with the game in the first place.

In Overwatch 2, Blizzard has initiated a live trial for the initial 6v6 game format, which allows players to test the Role Queue system on the King’s Row map. This setup follows the original Overwatch rules with two tanks, two damage characters, and two support characters participating in the match.

Some balance changes have also been made in the latest patch in an effort to make things fair. Additionally, this year’s Winter Wonderland event is also live with festive skins to earn, and the return of Winter Brawls, like Mei’s Snowball Offensive, Mei’s Yeti Hunt, and Freeze Flash Elimination.

You can now enjoy an “Overwatch 2 x Avatar: The Last Airbender” crossover event, running until December 30th! This collaboration features character skins inspired by the animated series. For instance, Zenyatta transforms into Aang, Venture takes on Toph’s role, Genji embodies Zuko, and Mei becomes Katarra. Additionally, there are free login rewards up for grabs!

Until 6th January 2025, the Winter Wonderland event in Overwatch 2 continues! Earn yourself some fabulous Legendary Skins by participating. You can snag the Merry Marionette Echo Legendary Skin after playing just three matches. Play six games to receive the Cozy Cassidy Legendary Skin and its Highlight Intro, and nine games (including wins) will net you the Winter Chic Widomaker Legendary Skin and its Highlight Intro as well!
