As a gaming enthusiast, I couldn’t help but get excited about the latest trailer for Overwatch 2 Season 17! It’s packed with fresh goodies like 8-bit skins, a map voting system, and some major Stadium updates. But that’s not all! The trailer hinted at a potential collaboration between Overwatch 2 and Nerf (fingers crossed!), and it officially confirmed the Overwatch 2 x G.I. Joe crossover event! Bring on the action!
Overwatch 2 Nerf collaboration
Is there a collaboration between Overwatch 2 and Nerf coming up soon? The official Overwatch 2 Season 17 trailer, titled “Powered Up!”, seems to hint at this possibility. The trailer, set in an arcade, takes players through the season with some exciting transitions. One of these transitions subtly suggests a potential crossover between Overwatch 2 and Nerf.
At the 1 minute and 16 seconds point, there’s a quick succession of pictures shown. One of them features a Nerf gun and some orange ammo next to a Pachimari stuffed toy, which might be suggesting a potential partnership for Overwatch 2 Season 17.
Overwatch 2 G.I. Joe crossover confirmed
As an ardent fan, I’ve been on the lookout for any Overwatch 2 updates, and though there’s no word yet on a Nerf crossover, Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed a G.I. Joe collaboration! Around the 1:16 mark, it seems like they’ve introduced a Snake Eyes Genji skin. In the screenshot below, you can see him charging forward and using his shurikens – it’s quite the sight to behold!
Following the unveiling of the Overwatch 2 trailer by Blizzard Entertainment, the official account on X shared the Season 17 plan on X, which also featured a visual confirmation of Overwatch 2 teaming up with G.I. Joe.
Collaboration isn’t new to this franchise; it’s been working together with various entities. For instance, Overwatch 2 has recently collaborated with Street Fighter 6. Other partnerships include One-Punch Man, LE SSERAFIM, Cowboy Bebop, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and even Transformers.
