Overwatch 2 teases hilarious 67 emote for most unexpected hero

“Give us 67 reasons why we should put this emote in-game.”

The official social media account for Overwatch 2 has teased a brand-new emote for Soldier: 76.

Overwatch 67 emote

Overwatch 2 includes an emote (number 67) that references a currently popular, though silly, phrase used by younger generations (Gen Alpha). It might seem strange to see this coming from Soldier: 76, a character who is 58 years old. However, it could be a playful nod to the ‘How Do You Do, Fellow Kids?’ meme, or simply an amusing observation that 67 is the reverse of Soldier: 76’s number.

Overwatch 2 gets 67 emote

Overwatch 2 recently shared an emote to celebrate Dictionary.com’s choice of ’67’ as their 2025 Word of the Year. The number, said as “six-seven,” was selected because Dictionary.com noticed a huge increase in searches for it starting in mid-2025 – far more than for any other two-digit number. Their experts analyzed trends online and in the news to make the pick.

It’s funny that the official Overwatch 2 account actually tagged Merriam-Webster on social media. And the dictionary’s account replied with a GIF of Larry David!

The gift of prophecy?

It’s also interesting to note that the parody Twitter account PotNoodle Overwatch predicted the ’67’ emote. Back on October 26th, they tweeted about opening 67 loot boxes.

Overwatch 2 memes galore

Overwatch 2 has a history of including items based on popular internet memes and GIFs. For example, earlier this year, they added a highlight intro for the character Sombra that referenced the classic ‘Thumbs Up Kid’ GIF – a video featuring Brent Rambo from an old Apple ad.
