Blizzard Entertainment has shared details about upcoming changes to the Overwatch 2 Stadium game mode. Although it debuted alongside Season 16, it’s already slated for some significant updates. These enhancements will feature the introduction of new characters such as Zenyatta, Sigma, Junkrat, Sojourn, Winston, and Brigitte. Here is a sneak peek into the future of Overwatch 2 Stadium.
More Overwatch 2 Stadium heroes to arrive
As a gaming enthusiast, here’s my take: Initially, when Overwatch 2 launched, there were 17 heroes to choose from in the Stadium mode. Later on, during the mid-season update, Freja made her entrance. What’s exciting now is that Zenyatta, Sigma, and Junkrat are set to debut in Season 17! But wait, there’s more! Sojourn, Winston, and Brigitte will join us in Season 18!
It’s intriguing to point out that each season will introduce a fresh tank, damage, and support hero. As for Seasons 19 and beyond, it seems like the silhouettes hint at the arrival of characters such as Baptiste, Echo, Hanzo, Doomfist, and Roadhog.
The blog post from the game’s director unveiled a list of upcoming heroes in Overwatch 2. As per the article, the Overwatch 2 Stadium will introduce new heroes with each season. Furthermore, whenever a new hero is introduced within the team, it significantly changes the meta and the way the developers construct teams for Overwatch 2.
In its current state, Overwatch 2 boasts a total of 43 playable characters, with Freja being the newest addition. We’ve been informed that Aqua will become Hero 44, and there are whispers about an enigmatic Hero 45 on the horizon. The upcoming seasons will see Zenyatta, Sigma, and Junkrat join the Stadium game mode, gradually expanding its roster with more heroes to choose from.
