Overwatch 2 Season 19 gets Stadium Gadgets, new heroes, and major Ana rework

“There are 13 new Gadgets to match your playstyle.”

Blizzard has revealed what’s coming in Overwatch 2 Season 19. Players can look forward to new features in the Stadium game mode, including Gadgets, and the return of the Busan control map. There’s also a new All-Star skin for Cassidy, plus three additional heroes joining the roster.

What are Stadium Gadgets in Overwatch 2?

In Overwatch 2’s Stadium mode, players can use special items called Gadgets. You get to pick one Gadget at the start of each game and activate it using a key you choose. Some examples of these Gadgets are the Colossus Core, Kitsune Charm, and Jet Skates.

Blizzard Entertainment has revealed that Colossus Core is great for breaking through enemy lines, while Kitsune Charm removes harmful effects. Jet Skates allow players to avoid being defeated, and Stadium Gadgets come in common, rare, and epic versions.

Overwatch 2 Stadium Gadgets explained

Overwatch 2 system designer Scott Hwang recently explained how Stadium Gadgets work in a new video. He shared that his personal favorite is the Colossus Core for Reinhardt, which, when used, allows the tank hero to charge forward, increase in size, and receive both health and damage reduction for three seconds.

“There are 13 new Gadgets to match your playstyle,” Hwang added.

New Overwatch 2 Stadium heroes enter Season 19

In Season 19, Torbjörn, Lifeweaver, and Sojourn will be featured in the new Overwatch 2 Stadium game mode. According to Hwang, players controlling Torbjörn in Stadium will be able to deploy three times the usual number of turrets, including fully upgraded level 3 versions – even tripling up on those! Plus, he’ll be able to move around while swinging his hammer.

Sojourn, while using her Overclock ability, can automatically aim her main weapon while sliding and quickly fire several Disruptor Shots. Hazard, a tank hero, can launch spikes when his Spike Guard is active and also fire a projectile over a long distance.

Overwatch 2 Stadium gets major Ana rework

Okay, so I’m really excited for Season 19! They’re giving Ana a big rework in Stadium, which is awesome. She’s getting four brand new Stadium Powers, and the old ones aren’t going away completely – they’re becoming Stadium Items instead, which is a cool way to keep them in the game!

According to Hwang, Ana can fire a Sleep Dart from her rifle with greater speed. When the Sleep Dart hits, it creates a Biotic Grenade. This grenade can then boost the effects of Nano Boost on teammates. Finally, Ana can increase an ally’s attack speed and ultimate ability charge, but it uses up some of her own ultimate charge.
